Delighted to be awarded a certificate of excellence by Trip Advisor Wellwood Lodge is on the edge of glorious countryside yet just ten minutes walk to the bars, shops and stunning architecture and parks of Buxton! Considerable recent updating gives visitors a superior self-catering experience in the beautiful spa town of Buxton and the stunning Peak District. A bespoke handcrafted oak staircase rises through the heart of the house to the six spacious bedrooms one of which is a stunning 4 poster room with en suite. There are 4 bath / shower rooms in total. A huge (31 ft) 9.5 metres lounge offers a wonderful space for entertaining. Wi-fi is accessible throughout the property. The fully-fitted and exceptionally well equipped kitchen leads to a Victorian-style conservatory and a dining room with an 8 foot square table that seats 12 to 14. In the basement is a small games room with table football and pool table loved by all ages! It is the perfect house and location for family and friends gatherings. The house is on a hillside with a front and enclosed rear garden with a small lawn. For a small fee we allow owners to bring their well behaved dogs to enjoy their holiday too. Plenty of space for walks less than 5 minutes away Buxton's beauty is a popular choice for weddings, the house is in walking distance of the Palace Hotel, Old Hall Hotel, Crescent Hotel, Devonshire Dome and Pavilion Gardens, all popular reception venues. We have had brides leave from our door for their big day, families delighted to have a venue where they can relax informally together without the constraints of a hotel. As a resident since childhood I am an enthusiast of my beautiful town, the specialist shops within the Cavendish arcade the former spa bathing area, the extensive choice of places to sample the local gastronomic delights, the wonderful Opera house and the stunning Pooles cavern which is rated as England's finest show cavern are just a few of the highlights. The beautifully kept 23 acre Pavilion gardens is a wonderful place for all ages to enjoy a fun filled time.
