We stayed here during our D-Day Landings Tour with Leger, we are surprised Leger still use them. The good points, just had a full refurb, so everything is new, clean and up to date, breakfast and sweet selections outstanding. The bad points, on arrival we were given key to our room only to find it had not been cleaned following the previous occupant. See pics. I say room, more like a 'walk in' cupboard with a bed in. Very little storage space, big enough for one person but not a couple. The set evening meal main course, although looking good, see pic, was not anything special and the mains for a vegetarian non existent. If you didn't fancy a plain omelette each night you could have three items from the 'sides'. see pic. I was told I couldn't even have a cheese omelette as a variant. I intend to travel with Leger again but not if they are planning on using this hotel.

I have just got home from a Leger battlefield tour, i, like many others read the reviews and was a bit concerned.... So, this hotel is clearly budget, and starting with the less good points, its a little way out of town, rooms aren't huge and its a tiny bit dated. The bathroom is very small but functional, however it was clean and loads of hot water. But..... speaking for myself, its impeccably clean, had good quality bedding, has a tram stop outside if you want to head into town, free wifi and despite the reviews about the unpleasant staff, I found them lovely and all had reasonable english skills too. Breakfast was typically continental and of a good standard, but the breakfast room isn't huge, so an early start seemed to work well. I am vegetarian, so didn't opt for the meals in the hotel, but fellow travellers seemed more than happy with their dinners and quite complimentary about it. In terms of food there is a buffalo grill next door (steak house) and thats literally next door, over the road is a carrefour with a couple more eateries, and if you turn right, there is macdonalds 2 minutes away. So there are plenty of options. The wifi was a bit hit and miss, but its free so you can't moan. If you do need wifi, then macdonalds was very good for that. I don't know how much the rooms cost as it was part of a package, so i can't comment on value. Personally, I would have no issues staying here again and for an out of town hotel, would recommend it.

Stayed, like many other reviewers, as a participant on a Leger Battlefield Tour, so I was expecting a functional base to rest and eat after a long day on the road. This hotel met the needs of the visit very well. As regards the location, it is fine if you are there as part of a tour group but a little out of town if you are travelling independently. The room was small but the bed was comfortable and there was a kettle, with tea/coffee kit. The bathroom was somewhat cramped and in need of a little renovation but I gather the new owners are working on the accommodation so it can only get better. The restaurant offered a good continental breakfast and an evening menu, with a choice of three main dishes. The food was tasty and well presented - I have no complaints. Finally, a word of appreciation for the staff, who were friendly, sociable and helpful.

Well, for a start, this is a budget hotel and having stayed in plenty, I was reticent about it’s quality; but in truth, there were a few aspects about this little number that made it just a tad better than the norm. One - the location is excellent for the ferry; two - its not in town, but it’s quiet and next to a restaurant; three - it’s own restaurant provides excellent quality and delicious food; four - their breakfast spread isn’t just croissants, bread and more carb , there’s boiled eggs, loads of fresh fruit, cereals and yoghurts; five- they provided a kettle, yes an actual kettle in the rooms; six - it was clean, fresh and newly decorated with decent fixings. So there it is. Stay; I recommend it.And it was under 40 Euro’s.

This is the equivalent of a truck stop hotel in an industrial area of Caen. I complained immediately to try and get a room change and they just gave a gaelic shrug and said not possible full. I tried on 2 occasions to move rooms to no avail. Even Leger reps agreed but did nothing on seeing the room. Whats worse I wrote with photos to Leger complaints and after over a month received a letter apologising but saying if i decided to travel with them again " let them know and they will look after me". no refund or discount. I had always wanted to travel on the DDAY landings tour. I met veterans and some great people inspite of the shoddy company & dreadful hotel. Have a look at the hotel room. (pics uploaded) like something from the 1960's stained carpet mouldy cracked and filthy shower that stank of damp. No wardrobe dirty soiled toilet. Horrible ive stayed in better hostels alot better hostels infact

Stayed here during a Leger battlefield tour. Had booked as a single traveller, but got a twin room (room 5) so I had a bit of room and I was also on the ground floor. Room was at the side of the hotel and was very quiet. No drawers but plenty of hangers. No table as such but large shelf under window instead, with tea/coffee facilities. Bathroom was adequate but make such shower curtain is inside the shower basin otherwise you will end up with a flooded bathroom floor. Bar area was adequate albeit quite small. Restaurant/breakfast area was good and food was very good. Would stay here again if in the area.

Stayed here as part of a Leger tour which delivered 100%. I have reported back to them that we would pay more for a better hotel. It is in the middle of an Industrial Estate with only a Buffalo Grill near by. The evening meal at the hotel and Buffalo Grill was inedible. The evening meal at the hotel is a very poor a choice of three mains and no vegetarian option and we both found it inedible. If you want a decent evening meal you can go to Caen town at a cost of 38 euros round trip. The continental buffet at the hotel was ok with a good choice. The room was basic but clean and acceptable. The complimentary tray was a joke, two tiny and I mean tiny plastic cups and some coffee & sugar. No milk or tea bags. Top tip take your own cups and tea bags etc. Not enough hangers so take your own as there are no drawers or cupboards to put clothes. The shower was so small that any larger person just would not fit in through the narrow gap when the doors open. If you can get in the shower you cannot move around without knocking the shower control.
