Hôtel François d'o

We stayed in the hotel for four nights. Although clean, our room was in an annex and was on the small side, particularly the bathroom. I'm not sure if this is typical of a city centre hotel. The room tended to feel damp and there was no window to open. During daytime occupation I left the door open to let some fresh air in. The area was very quiet for sleeping. The hotel offered breakfast at a cost of 9 Euros each which had to be booked in advance which we declined. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The hotel is near the centre of Caen close to shops, bars and restaurants. Car parking is a problem as the area is very busy. We used a nearby underground car park for the first night but cost over 20 Euros. The receptionist told us about parking free near the university at the weekend as students tend to go home. It's about a 15min walk from the hotel.

Good hotel in centre of town , we had a room with courtyard garden (top) Friendly and nice people, a top buffet breakfast with BIO products . I do recommend this place if you plan to visit Caen and a round Caen.

Very friendly welcoming staff. Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Outdoor patio area. Central but quiet location 10-15 minutes walk from the historic quarters. Comment: while you can't park next to the hotel, we found a parking spot in a nearby street, then walked from there to the the hotel. // I thought the nights sleep could be a challenge as the bedroom only had a front door (no window) but I slept like a log. Room was cool and quiet.

Highly recommend this hotel. Very good value for money, the rooms are nicely decorated with modern bathrooms. Hotel is central and the service was friendly. Rooms were very clean and serviced every day. We decided not to have breakfast knowing we could pick up a pastry from the many bakeries in town. We would return.
