Stayed for 2 nights in March, 13-15th. On arrival the staff were very helpful and friendly. Once I got to my room (304) after opening the door, the smell of body odur was strong, I tried to open a window, windows don't open, I sprayed my deodorant, in the bathroom the toilet hadn't been flushed, urine stains on the wall by the side of the toilet. The bathroom mirror had smear marks and what looks like phlegm. Bath/shower had no mat. The double room was in fact 2 single beds on wheels, in-between and underneath the 2nd bed was food crumbs, sweets and rubbish. The mattress was awful, lumpy and every time I got on or off the bed it moved. Lovely area, great staff but the room was awful, maybe an off day? Reported it to staff

Hotel was great. Very reasonably priced and staff were great Big negative was the restaurant/pub closing at 9pm, why? Was looking forward to a catch up with family. Never known a pub to close at 9pm Please remember if you fancy a few drinks and a meal

My company stopped booking Premier Inn until they recently changed our booking provider and them the option of booking Premier Inn again reappeared. Sadly covid times came flooding back with literally no service to the room after check in. No bins emptied, no towels changed, no tea making facilities topped up. This must be the only hotel group still living in the past. They will say that this can be requested but who wants to go to reception to beg for the basics to be done that should be part of the service. The price of the room does not cost any less for longer stays to reflect this. My advice is if you are stay more than 1 night is to book your days separately so at least you come back to a "clean" room. This leads me only the review of the hotel in question. I checked in to my room and noticed that Premier inn are now using clear glass type cups. I put the kettle on and turned over my cup to be presented with a cup that was left and used by the previous guest. lips stains on the cup and a thick coffee rim that ran down the cup. I took this to reception and show the lady on duty who said asked me if I had checked in the previous day as the cups are not cleaned for longer than 1 day stays. I said no. I checked in 5 minutes ago with you. She looked at the cup and grimmest and said.. "I know why this is, The lady that does the rooms does not like wearing her glasses" and proceeded to say "Do you want me to replace this?" Well yess. Thats why I brought it too you. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! This left me thinking the whole time during my stay. What else hasn't been changed or cleaned? When I decided to have a shower I did try and use the shower gel but this is simply not fit for purpose. It was water with the odd bubble. This is obviously watered down beyond the purpose of being effective. Other hotel chains pride themselves on the quality of their toiletries with Holiday Inn being the exception. I travel the UK and book hotels on a weekly basis but will not return to Premier inn until they focus on customer service and not live in the past as a money saving exercise. The one thing you can guarantee is a comfortable bed and descent pillows but I have doubts on the cleanliness on this stay.
