Mid City Luxury Suites

Well located just opposite the Myer end of Cairns Central shopping centre within a few minutes of bus stops, the railway station and Rusty's market. No more than a 1o min walk down to the esplanade. This isn't going to excite folks who want to be on the esplanade for a few nights and be in the centre of things but is a good bet for a long term stay for business or similar. There is no real "view". Suites are clean and well presented, furnishings are a bit dated but otherwise clean and comfortable with a decent sized kitchen area compared to many other accommodation options. Plenty of parking in a secure car park under the building (but not underground). Minor grumbles include only having 3 of anything in the kitchen (means that you are constantly washing up), the cooking surface only has 2 rings and takes some getting used to but there is a full size oven. The out of hours service for check ins and support is an utter waste of time. "Luxury" seems to me to be a stretch too far but for a longer term stay where views are less important that cleanliness, comfort and facilities I'd say this is a good bet.

Recently stayed for 4 nights. Good sized room, comfortable bed. Near shopping centre which is good as apartments are self-catering. Easy walk to nearby cafes and restaurants. Esplanade is within walking distance. Only drawback is kitchen is a little tired and could do with a makeover.

This is not a 4 star hotel at best it is 2.5 stars. Entrance through an insecure underground carpark. Room was dank with terrible smell through air-conditioning, old and rundown rooms. Had to stay one night before relocating to another hotel.

Very outdated. Lounge is old and uncomfortable. Apartment is very compact. Dryer broke down. Had a balcony which faced directly onto a dirty brick wall. No lift. No room service for 3 days. Location is directly opposite Cairns Central so that was good.

Not recommended. Stay up the other end of town in any of the motels which all have better facilities, staff and are closer to restaurants and things to do. This place is directly opposite the transport and rail hub

My family of four single women stayed in two one bedroom apartments which had a queen bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge. Perfect for us or so we thought. Unfortunately the sofa beds were difficult to assemble, very lumpy and thin and sagged in the middle making it very uncomfortable and virtually impossible to get any sleep at all. We eventually had to pad up the mattress with2 blankets under the sheet and extra pillows to support the sag. It is a disgrace in this day and age that owners think this is acceptable. Other issues were a kitchen cupboard door that kept falling off, the tap handle that feel off and the toilet that didn’t work properly. Cleanliness was also an issue with lipstick marks on glasses and cutlery that wasn’t clean meaning we felt compelled to wash everything before use. The units themselves although dated were roomy enough, we liked the location and the guys at reception did their best to help but they are not luxury in any sense of the word and more attention to cleanliness and maintenance is needed before I could ever recommend these units.
