Gavimar Ariel Chico Hotel and Apartments

Massive shout out to Jose and Robin who really made it for the teenagers (Hope and Esmee) I was with for this holiday. We had a fantastic time and they endless enthusiasm and energy was massively appreciated. Thanks fellas!! I was generally very pleased with the value of this place . It was exceptional for the first few days but I would say the last day or two in the dining where not as great as more and more people arrived for the season . But I will say I loved Cala D’Or and I would come back and again exceptional value. But that fifth star is due to the masters of entertainment. The fabulous duo of Robin and Jose. Thank you for the fun quizzes, the crazy golf, the ridiculous dancing and being constantly ready to make everybody smile. It makes a big difference!

Just got home from 10 nights at this hotel like others was abit cautious due to past reviews on arrival we were given our room but unfortunately that was not to our expectations due to the lenth of time we were staying however the lady on reception was so accommodating and after 2 more rooms the 3 was more than what we expected the staff in this hotel are all friendly and nothings to much trouble even the cleaning staff swop towels at request and supply extra toilet rolls when required the food is good and there's always a wide choice the only negative thing I could possibly say is that the entertainment of a night could be better on that though I would consider returning back again

I read the reviews on this hotel and was looking forward to few days away with my sister at what I thought was going to be a nice relaxing stay, however I feel the need to write an honest review about this place. We arrived approximately at 12 mid day and was told our room was ready for us although the usual check in time was 2 o’clock. Great. When we got to our room it was very dated and looked like it was meant for self catering, although no kettle. The bathroom was old and the bath had long seen better days as well as the shower. The TV was above the bed so there was no way of watching it as it was up the end of the pillows and there was a third bed at the other end. The balcony was very open with no privacy from rooms either side and the view was of the street so was a bit noisy. We were informed the cleaner would be in 3 times a week. ( well weren’t actually told we overheard reception telling someone else) when actually our room wasn’t cleaned once. The stairs outside the room were not swept once. Towels were changed but ours actually had mould on them!! Restaurant was ok ish, breakfast and lunch were edible but evening meal was awful every night we were there. There were groups of children in the restaurant alone who were loud and taking up lots of tables all unaccompanied by adults, the same was said for around one of the pool areas playing loud music without an adult in sight. It’s 1 euro deposit for a plastic cup for drinks, which actually carries on in the evening as well. There’s no nice area to sit on the evening and not a comfy chair in sight. On our last day we decided to keep the room because we had a later flight, we paid our euros and was told we had to give our band back at 10 am because we had checked in early!! ( as I previously wrote they let us check in early) if this was the case surely we should’ve been able to keep the band till 12!! I have to say Carole on reception was probably on par with a doctors receptionist!! Don’t get me wrong Cala Dor is lovely but this hotel I would avoid at all costs.

2nd visit to this hotel in less than a year, and it was just as good as the 1st. Travelled as a family this time and everyone enjoyed it, as there is something for everyone. The staff remembered us from our previous visit and were all polite and friendly. Damien, the head waiter was brilliant as always and the entertainment led by the fantastic Suntai were fantastic. Another brilliant holiday at Ariel Chico, and already looking forward to the next one

Just come back from a week at this hotel first time abroad for 20yrs a brilliant time was had ! The food was great each night there was something different to try everything was always good really tasty the complex was very clean and staff was always friendly big shout out to the entertainment team they was always engaging with everyone and work damn hard,pool facilities was fantastic,beach just a stones throw away quite small and have to get there very early if you want a lounger we got there at 9.30 and they was all gone, there's a nice place for cocktails just down the road the tropical gardens live entertainment every night

Absolutely brilliant holiday. The hotel is in the centre of everything. 2 minutes to beach. Hotel is clean,we stayed in a 1 bed apartment in the reception block it has a lift. You cross a tiny road to the other part of the hotel inc the big pool and massive outdoor bar.staff were brilliant. Food is spot on loads of choices. Looking already to book for next year.
