Hotel President

Hotel itself was lovely and clean. Restaurant staff were really nice. Reception staff could’ve been a bit more welcoming but still nice. Short walk to shops in Calella. Food wasn’t great all the time but still ok. Entertainment was ok. Not many English people (not a bad thing) just something that we noticed.

Stayed at President Hotel during Ironman 2024. Can’t really fault the place at all. Hotel is very clean, comfortable and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, big enough for a bike box and to build up and take down the bike. Also had a mini fridge to fit in drinks and nutrition. Bathroom modern enough with a really good shower. Rooms cleaner really well each day. Comfy beds, quiet in the evening/night and good air con in the room. Food was brilliant, especially considering I couldn’t eat anything that may upset the stomach. Really good choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plenty of salad, bread, fruit and meat options. Hotel also puts on a 5:30am breakfast on day of the event. Bar is good and cheap and draws reasonable sized crowd in the evenings. Pool table there too and evening entertainment each night. Good storage facilities also for bike boxes when checking out. Hotel is close to main busy area of town, about 5mins walk to main street and about 10mins from finish line for Ironman. I can’t imagine anyone wouldn’t think they are getting extremely good value when booking here, we would certainly come back. 5/5 experience.

I am not sure where the issue regarding being English is coming from. We had an excellent time and service. The hotel is spotless and everything is cleaned within an inch of its life. The staff are friendly and approachable, the entertainment we saw was good fun. Hotel is literally a 5 min walk from everything including the beach. We only did breakfast and glad we did as soon as we many nice places to eat near the hotel. As for the noise we slept well with the door open. This hotel does what it says and is a worthy 3 star. We noticed no coffee or tea facilities, but there is a fridge. We simply went to the local supermarket and bought iced coffee for the mornings. I would say that we did come the end of September so probably more quiet than usual. Our room was pool view and more than adequate. I would highly recommend staying here. It’s a central location and is clean and comfortable. As for Calella itself it is a lovely place to walk, stop, shop, eat and drink. We went on the little train around the area, gave you a good overview. There is a bus ticket stand in the first little square area. Can get tickets to Barcelona and Girona. The train station is not a far walk or you can get the little train to it. The only down side was flies. They are most prominent in the first little square. Drive you mad if you’re trying to eat. (Very) big hotel, lots of people all around (strongly recommended to go for breakfast before 9 am - med/low quality). Rooms are overall good, mind that an open air discotheque is just in front of it (no way to sleep with open windows). There are some payment parking slot in front of it. Located at 10 min walk from pedestrian area of Calella

This is a really good hotel The food is more than good, hot and plentiful Drinks are reasonably priced English TV Chanel’s not great choice Did not use pool but looked good People/Staff all seamed happy Really good power shower will certainly stay again when in the area

I’ll start off by saying the hotel is a 3 star as it says online. It has the things you need in the room like clean beds, mini fridge, mirror, good bathroom, balcony and a TV, nothing fancy but it’s decent. However, the safe in the wardrobe area is €3 a day for a key to lock your things away which I find quite unfair as people shouldn’t have to pay to keep their belongings safe. In terms of the food, the choices are extremely poor for the evening and there is a huge lack of variety, especially if you’re bringing children, although breakfast is good. The pool is great, can’t fault it, it is clean and there are lots of sun-beds for everyone, along with a lovely pool bar. The hotel has many friendly staff including the nice bartenders and servers in the restaurant. However, this hotel seriously needs to check who they are hiring as one of the chefs on his day off sat at the bar with me and my friend, taking pictures of her mini skirt and winking at us the whole time even though we had told him to stop, to later on the next day find him cooking at breakfast🤢 The area itself has many good qualities like the supermarket which is 2 mins across the road, the nightclub and multiple bars right next to the hotel and it is only a short walk to the beach through a pretty town. On the other hand, I definitely would not recommend coming here if you’re looking for a girls holiday aged 18-25 as the men in the area are absolutely vile. We were grabbed on the street, whistled at, shouted at and made to feel uncomfortable the whole time we stayed here, even just walking to the supermarket for a drink. However, the beach is beautiful and there are many shops to enjoy.
