Comfort Inn Parklands Calliope

Booked a twin room for Christmas eve and Christmas Day. The website said in house restaurant wirh breakfast lunch and dinner available. On arrival we were informed no restaurant for the holiday period. We asked where we could find food Christmas Day .. she told us go to IGA and shop. We were not impressed and said so.. and the woman on reception said she would “upgrade” us to a cabin with a kitchen so we could cook for ourselves. Not my Christmas plan at all. The cabin had one bed.. not a good thing at all. The kitchen was also poorly stocked one set of cutlery and a microwave that didnt work properly. This was $378 for 2 nights stay! We had the worst Christmas in our 70 years. Dont stay here..drive into Gladstone and go to another motel.. Any motel has to be better than this one. Be aware the room price is minus GST which is added on. A twin room was billed to our visa at $189 per night… no food..no pool no service at all.

This motel is disgusting.. We have been using this motel for years and started paying $99 then price went to $116 then $129 and calling this week it was $159.. 3 weeks ago we paid $116.. Their reasoning is it is supply and demand because there are a lot of shutdowns and companies are putting their employees up there they have increased the price.. “ isn't that called price gouging” ..The main lady is so very rude also..Room was disgusting and old and shower not working we have videos of this.. $159 is so Extreme for a terrible room and very disappointing that they don't even care to look after their regulars.. we will NEVER go back and we will be telling a lot of others that go that way. Plenty of other really nice places around them For a lot cheaper..

Stayed here overnight. A stop over while travelling through to Brisbane. Lovely clean cottage/cabin. Light and airy inside. Bathroom is clean with an oversized shower with plenty of hot water. Will stay again!

Booked this motel for an overnight stopover but it was not what we expected. Our room was in the main building (There are numerous cabins outside that appeared more modern.) As soon as we walked in, it reminded my wife of hospitals she had worked in and reminded us both of aged care facilities (nursing homes) that family members had lived in. The room had an impractical layout for a motel. There was no shelf or bench space in the bathroom. The vanity basin was just a basin. The only towel rail was above the toilet cistern. So had to keep our toiletries on the dresser within stand-alone wardrobe in the room. There was a lamp on my beside table but no power point so we asked for an extension lead. There were no drinking glasses or wineglasses so I went to reception. I was told to go to the kitchen, where a staff member found some glasses and offered to put them through the dishwasher because they were dusty. I took them and we rinsed them ourselves in the room. Contrary to the marketing, dining is not in a restaurant. It would be best described as a Dining Hall. It’s a semi-permanent white marquee structure with a bare concrete floor. The only dinner option was a $29 buffet that included roast meat and veggies, a sweet & sour & rice, potato bake, and a number of pre-made desserts. There was a bar selling beer but not wine. They allowed us to bring our own. The motel car park was a wide open gravelled area - it would be impossible to wheel your luggage over this surface. The receptionist suggested a back entrance where I could temporarily park, while unloading our luggage. This entrance takes you through an unkept, untidy courtyard-type area but this was definitely the easiest way to go. The website does not paint an accurate picture of this motel. We won’t come again.

We where travelling on school holidays… This beautiful women Summer went above and beyond to accommodate us. We so appreciated her efforts to make sure we had a bed for the night. Summer we thank you as we where running out of luck on a very long trip. Thank you 😊

Nice quiet location we stayed in a cabin and it was so spacious would be one of the BEST cabins we have ever stayed in. From the moment i phoned and booked to checking out we got nothing but, the best friendliest service. Would definitely stay here again,
