The Captain Swift Inn is by far the best B&B stay I have ever experienced. The building is historic but in beautiful condition and very clean with modern accommodations and decor. The shower in our room was possibly the cleanest and nicest I've seen in all of my travels. Jeff and Shelly were the warmest of hosts and made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. The 3 course breakfast prepared by Shelly was beyond my wildest expectations: I will never forget the homemade granola and the pear fruit course. My wife and I don't often choose B&B's as often the buildings are a little worse for wear and lack modern luxuries but this was not at all the case at the Captain Swift Inn. I very highly recommend this B&B. The location is not right downtown but is still walkable. Parking downtown was not a problem while we were there so it was not a big deal to take the car when needed.

We truly didn’t want to leave. Our family of four, including two teenagers, enjoyed a delightful three-night stay at this charming B&B, ideally situated in the heart of Camden. Shelly and Jeff are exceptional hosts—gracious, attentive, and clearly dedicated to creating a memorable guest experience. The historic home is rich in character yet impeccably maintained, with every detail thoughtfully considered to ensure comfort. Breakfast each morning was a highlight—beautifully prepared, delicious, and genuinely impressive. This B&B offers the perfect balance of classic charm and modern convenience. We recommend it wholeheartedly.

Beautiful room. So clean and bright. We had a great time. Jeff and Shelly make sure your every need is met! Also, Camden is a fun little town with great restaurants and fun shops. I can’t wait to go back!

What a fabulous inn! The owners Shelly and Jeff are very hospitable! The breakfasts were more than plentiful and delicious. Come hungry. Our room, The Mercantile was lovely. Lots of space, nice jacuzzi tub, fireplace and private porch. Great location. Able to walk to the shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend.

We’ve stayed at several B&Bs in Maine, including other Select Registry inns, and this one was by far the best. The inn was immaculate and beautifully maintained, with a cozy, comfortable bed and a lovely en suite featuring a shower with massage jets. The room was very clean. The breakfasts were truly exceptional, multi-course, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious! The innkeepers and staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making the entire stay feel special. The inn has a great location, it’s very walkable to all the attractions Camden offers. It’s close enough to down town and the harbor so you can leave the car behind and not worry about parking. We enjoyed it so much we’re already planning a return trip this fall.

This was such a beautiful, homely Inn. The owners Shelly & Jeff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much. The breakfasts were off the scale in quality, quantity and taste. The entire inn was immaculate and the rooms gorgeous.

We had a wonderful snowy weekend during our stay from February 15-17, 2025. We were basically snowed in on Sunday due to the storm but the location allowed us to snowshoe into town and take in the the beauty of Camden. Upon our return, we spent the rest of the day in the spacious suite (the loft area was such a bonus), reading and playing games in the common areas, and feeling like we were home. The Innkeepers Shelley and Jeff, were more than accommodating with our vegan breakfast request. It was abundant, varied, and delicious! Do yourself a favor and stay at the Captain Swift Inn. You will not be disappointed!

What an amazing stay! Our suite was so comfy and so clean! The breakfasts were divine! The granola! You won’t need to worry about lunch. We went up for our 5th wedding anniversary and Jeff had asked what our wedding song was and he put it on the radio while we were having breakfast. I almost cried. Shelly and Jeff made my husband and I feel like family and that meant so much to us. This was my favorite trip ever. I hope we get to travel again soon and I we can go back. Thank you so much for being such amazing hosts!

Captain Swift is the absolute Best! So very warm and friendly and I felt as though I was at home. The grounds are beautiful, the breakfasts are way beyond delicious and presentation is perfect. Do not hesitate to stay here. The afternoon cookies are highly sought after by everyone. Shelly and Jeff are the perfect BnB owners. Our room was very large, super clean, stocked with coffee, drinks, popcorn, waters, a fireplace, king size bed, and a sitting area to enjoy tv in the evenings. About two blocks from the Harbor! Can’t say enough about this charming couple and their place.
