I Tre Merli Locanda

We found the superb Locanda I Tre Merli by luck from an online search in Camogli and it is simply perfect. Our host, Marco and his team were all lovely, nothing was too much trouble for them and every restaurant Marco recommended was great too. He is such an interesting man who is a published author and I think also makes wine. The rooms are in one of the beautiful painted buildings with arguably the best location in town right on the harbour with views over the harbour and out to sea. It is a short downhill walk of about 10-15 minutes from the local station which has a good train service from Genoa and Pisa. Our room was large, beautifully furnished and decorated, well equipped with a large comfortable bed and two armchairs so you could admire the view in comfort. Our room also had a really useful kitchenette and fridge too. We had breakfast each morning sitting on the harbour, there was a huge selection of pastries, breads, focaccia and eggs provided and if you wanted extra you could have fruit, charcuterie and cheeses too for a minimal extra charge. We had a wonderful stay in the seaside quaint hotel. Our host, Marco was very helpful and responsive, especially with the directions so we could walk from the Comogli train station to the hotel. (15 min walk). We communicated by WhatsApp, which was great. The room we had, had a wonderful view of the sea and the location was great to walk to everything in Comogli (restaurants and shops) and the town of Recco was only 1.2 miles away with some great restaurants as well. Marco, is quite interesting as he is an author and has his hands in winemaking as well! Breakfast was nice ! A great place to stay, and prices are reasonable. VictorB

A wonderful little place to stay with only 5 rooms, so reserve early. On a marina in Camogli - a cute little town with restaurants, shops and boats. Very quite.A wonderful place to just relax. Locanda has great rooms on the marina with views of the water.Mariana fixes breakfast and serves it outside if the weather is nice. Fresh Focaccia pastries, coffee (eggs if you want). Fruit is also available. A great place.

This was our second visit to Camogli. After finding the Tre Merli by luck on our first visit the wonderful experience stayed fresh in our minds and we have been eagerly awaiting the chance to return. We were not disappointed! This is a small boutique hotel owned and managed by very special people. The location is beyond doubt the very best in Camogli, nestled at the side of the little boat harbour with a glorious view of the busy little port, the church, and the surrounding picture perfect buildings. Breakfast each morning by the water is an incredibly lovely experience. Marco, Marianna and the whole team at Tre Merli are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Very sadly, my wife was unwell when we arrived and needed to rest. However Marco and Marianna helped us to stay an extra night and did all they could to assist. Camogli itself is a gorgeous town - with so much to see and enjoy. The ferry service to San Fruttuoso, with onward connection to Portofino, is just a few metres from the door of the hotel. There are also beautiful hiking trails around the coast. We were there 5 nights and I would happily have stayed 5 more. If arriving by car, parking is available about 750 metres away (reserve a place when you book), and Marco will send you a permit for you to drive very close to the hotel to unload and reload luggage in the restricted traffic zone. The boat harbour is at the heart of Camogli - a small and beautiful place, and the heart of the people is huge and generous. We definitely plan to return.

Just a really lovely little hotel in a stunning location, we had the harbour view. The room is delightfully cool with air conditioning switched on upon arrival and petals on the bed, and a lovely chilled bottle of prosecco waiting for us as it was our anniversary. Only teeny thing (no points taken off though) was that this location has a lot of steps as it's quite hilly. The parking is a little tight too and only enough for four cars, so if a guest parks carelessly it's almost impossible to get out! This did not spoil our holiday though.

The Location was excellent with fantastic views overlooking the fishing harbour. The reception is unmanned in the afternoon but the instructions we were sent on how to find the hotel, where to park the car etc. were all excellent. The staff the next morning were extremely helpful and run the bar/café below which is where we had a very good cooked breakfast. The air conditioning worked extremely well. One of the few hotels on our trip where this worked properly.
