Food is good and plentiful. Room was generally comfortable. Reception staff were superb. However rooms on first floor above the kitchen are noisy - continual water flushing sounds. And the frequency and timing of the ski buses in the valley is poor.

Just returned from a week stay half board at this hotel & was very happy. The hotel is a little remote, but ski bus 4 stops directly outside & it’s only a 3 minute walk down hill to the mail ski bus stop for the larger busses. The hotel is located only a few minutes drive from the ALBA lift, so no long drive to the slopes, I stayed in a single room, and although snug it served its purpose, bed was made every day, clean towels & a thermostat on the wall controlled the radiator (big enough to dry jacket & gloves & the bathroom also had a heated towel rad, there was a double wardrobe & draws = plenty of storage aswell as bedside cabinet. You are allocated a seat in the restaurant on arrival that will have your room number on it for the duration of your stay, at breakfast your supplied with a form to fill out to select that evening’s meals (similar to if you have ever stayed in hospital) the food was a very high standard, breakfast is a self service buffet with lots of different cereals, pastries & cured meats available (scrambled eggs is the only Hot option) the Evening meal has a choice of 4 started & main options to pick from. There is a bar area for socialising & a 400ml Larger cost €6, often free crisps/snacks were given with your drinks. There is not much of an Apres scene locally so be aware if this is your thing, this location will not suit. I got the bus to Pera 1 evening to meet with friends (had some nice restaurants & bars) but it was a €40 taxi return that I had to wait an hour for. The staff & friendly & helpful There is a wellness Centre in the basement, Jacuzzi steam bath, sauna and relaxation beds, this was included in my room rate, there is a second basement where the ski storage drying room is with heated boot racks. if you’re after a lively bustling hotel in a good apres area, this is not for you, if you’re after comfort good food in a warm comfy room with views to die for from your balcony close to the slopes you can’t go wrong.

My sister and I went on holiday here in February of 2024, booking through Neilson. We were not disappointed. We flew into Insbruk and were picked up by our lovely NME rep Emily. We then drove to the Dolomites inn, the skiing is unbelievable, the staff are absolutely lovely, the spa was great. My sister and I both have food intolerances and were catered for every single day, with there always being delicious options (not just fruit and salad). An absolutely fantastic holiday and look forward to returning there.

Went with Nelson Holidays. Great food, Any help wanted Emilly(Nielson rep) and staff at hotel where on hand. Got lost as ski map not that great but Emilly got a taxi for me (was v. expensive though). Had funny rule that you could have tea in the morning and cake/homemade biscuits and tea from 4.30-5.30 free but other times had to pay- in UK have kettle in your room with teabags anyway. Said tap water OK but tasted funny to me so got bottles. Lovely sauna and Jacuzzi. Swimming pool 10min free ski bus away and pretty walks nearby. Wonderful view from room of mountains. Could have been a board game/cards night though and they could of organised restaurant for everyone when chef had day off. Have to take bus and two gondolas to meet ski instructers so got lost first day as signage not great. Got given beginner skis when opted for package when said was intermediate.

Very good value hotel. Slightly out of town but no issues walking in and getting the regular buses right outside the hotel. Breakfast very good. Evening meal a bit hit and miss, a few strange combos. Afternoon tea fine. Room spacious for three. The hotel is traditional and some areas are a bit dated but for the money it’s absolutely fine. Neilson staff amazing. Emily particularly good. All very well organised, we had the flight home cancelled due to weather, alternative airport sorted and transport no problem.

We had a great trip. Mia & Emily were brilliant and very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is good all be it slightly out of it, but that is called out upfront in the Nielsen description, so it shouldn’t come as a shock. There is a small bus that runs every 20 minutes directly outside the hotel which takes you to the Alba lift, although some mornings we just walked as it was only a 10 to 15 minute stroll downhill. Food at the hotel was really good and wine plentiful. The skiiing is top notch in this area, we will definitely be coming back to the Dolomites. Eating out, particularly for lunch on the slopes was excellent. We didn’t have a bad lunch anywhere and it’s reasonably priced for a ski trip. If you want to chill out after full day Skiing I would strongly recommend this place for groups and families. Nielsen also provided a free bus pass for the week. Therefore, if you wanted to travel to Canazei or any of the other resorts in the valley, this was easily accessible up to about 8pm, thereafter you would need Taxis.

We had an excellent stay at the Dolomites Inn with Nelson Holidays. Our room was extremely comfortable for 3 people with everything you could need although the shower head had a mind of its own and there was a lot of condensation on the bathroom window which ran down onto the shelf beneath rendering it unusable. The staff in the chalet hotel were great and worked very hard. The wine served with dinner was very drinkable and the food was good but it wasn’t always all served at the same time. This got better as the week progressed (it was the first of the season). Breakfast was good and set us up for the day. A ski bus stopped right outside the hotel which had an excellent ski room. We were able to be on the first lift from Alba each morning. The amount of skiing in the area is awesome and every day is a new adventure. Penia is a quiet place but charming and there is some lovely architecture. A quick walk down the road and there are a few bars and restaurants. We had a lovely meal out when it was the staff night off. The bar at the hotel catered to our other needs. A good afternoon tea was served there. We enjoyed use of the excellent sauna and hot tub but didn’t have the energy to make use of the squash courts!

Good evening food - range, quantity, variety Good breakfasts - ditto and hot options served really quickly Afternoon teas excellent revivers and plenty to go at Good enough wine and free with meal Excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and polite service Comfy beds, room temperature a bit iffy on occasions 5 minute walk to ski bus - infrequent but reliable Hotel social areas comfortable, well appointed bar Sensible travel arrangements for arriving and leaving About the only place that we've stayed in that was set up for servicing your own skis Only downside - Didn't use the ski guiding service - not prepared to ski with a guide who doesn't wear a helmet - sets a really poor example, especially when guided clients, got head injuries.
