Stay Date: 16–23 June, 2025 Location: Lemon Tree Hotel, Kandolim, Goa Check-In & Reception: The staff at reception were courteous and welcoming upon my early arrival. They kindly offered me a comfortable seat in the lobby until the official check-in time, making the wait bearable. The reception area itself is well-maintained and gives a good first impression. Room Experience: I was allotted a room on the second floor. The room was spacious and air conditioning worked well. However, I noticed a few maintenance and cleanliness issues: • The sliding window door was jammed due to dust accumulation. • The bed made a squeaky noise with any movement. • The biggest concern was cleanliness: hair strands were found on the fabric part of the night lamp, which kept falling around the room. • The taps in the bathroom dispensed muddy water and required a long wait for it to run clear. • Fixtures for holding toiletries were leaning and required fixing. • Only one towel was replaced after service, and no hand or face towels were available. • The bathroom lighting was too dim for comfort. Restaurant Experience: The buffet offered a good variety and the food was flavorful. However, service fell short. Plates weren’t cleared promptly, and tables weren’t cleaned quickly between guests, making it challenging to find a clean spot. The biggest letdown was when I ordered a plain dosa — the first one arrived soggy, and the replacement had a long hair strand in it, forcing me to leave the table. The staff tried to make up for it by preemptively providing plain dosas every morning, but after the initial experience, I felt it was too little too late. Overall Impression: As a frequent traveler and someone with 8–10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, I have higher expectations when it comes to room upkeep and service standards. Currently, I’d rate this hotel as average. There’s great potential here, but attention to detail and stronger service standards are needed for it to match its category and deliver the experience its guests deserve.
