Just back from ski trip to Andorra and stayed at Hotel Austria by Pierre & Vacances. Overall we felt this was a really good hotel, it would be similar level as a Travelodge in UK. The room was a good size & spotlessly clean with comfortable beds. Bedding was changed during stay and towels changed twice in the week. We did find the room very warm, even with the radiator turned down. We felt the room could benefit from a fridge in the room. There are also free ski lockers outside the bedrooms which was handy. There is a sewage smell around the reception area which was really unpleasant but the rest of the hotel didn't. We opted for half board basis but if we return we would only opt for B&B rate. The breakfast had plenty to choose from including continental and full cooked breakfast (bacon, sausages, eggs, hash browns, cooked tomatoes, churros). The evening meal however lacked variety, though what was on offer was adequate. There is also a bar area that sells tapas for those who don't want to use the restaurant. The bar also has a pool table. The hotel is not actually in Soldeu but about 5 mins away by bus. There is a free mini bus service to Grau Roig each morning diagonally opposite the hotel (outside Skiset hire shop) and back again in the afternoon. There is also a bus service to Soldeu (Line 4 - Andorra) outside the supermarket which is €1.90 single journey, return (Line 4 - Pas de la Casa). They only take cash but tickets can be booked via the 'Mov-te' app. The staff at the hotel (both reception & dining area) were welcoming, friendly, helpful and professional. We would definitely like to return Andorra and would be happy to stay here again.

We stayed in a lovely Pierre et Vacance Sunari apartment. We were unaware that it was run by the Hotel Austria. The first problem was when we arrived at the apartment we had to walk a long way back uphill to Hotel Austria to get our keys for the apartment. We arrived in the 7th Jan at approx 3.30 pm We had booked a skiing holiday with ski hire, passes and accommodation through Granvalira. From the moment we arrived at the hotel desk we were treated without respect and without help. They did not give us the ski passes that they had printed out already for us.....nor tell us they had them. In fact we were told that they did not have them and were directed to the sports shop (great guys) across the road to get them. As they were already printed (by the hotel), we could not print them at the sports shop either, and had to go early the next morning to the central ski area and have them print them for us...after they had some trouble with the hotel trying to understand why they had not been given to us. Another thing to add....Although I initially told them that they all had undercharged us for Tourist Tax..... They dismissed my comments ....until after when we were hauled up and told to pay up ... as if we tried to cheat them in the first place. It was all a big frustrating... especially after a long time travelling to a place we were never before, where we thought it would be all sorted for us (as paid for already by us). Basically, the two staff we unhelpful, unfriendly, condescending and not bothered with dealing with us at all. We had to bo back three times to sort things out.....but we're unable to because of the attitude of the two women at reception. We had a Spanish speaker with us....but even she could not understand the attitude or reasoning behind the very poor behavior.

I'd rather sleep on the streets/in a gondola/on the mountain/in a bin The hotel is not in the same location it is on the map in the ********** app and possibly other apps!!!! This is a huge mistake as we needed to be in Soldeu and ended up costing us a lot in Taxis finding it. The Map shows it is in the centre of Soldeu when it is not. We asked for a refund which was not given even though we never checked in and had to book another Hotel!! Also it looked pretty bad on the inside, staff were not helpful and they refused us a drink from the bar as it was not open (afternoon) even though we needed a drink! Avoid this place!

So terrible hotel. We payed 260 euro( without breakfast) ,to my opinion it doesn’t worth even 50 euro, the photos are not true at all. The reception in reality like a bus station! The rooms are not the same like on the photo. Incredible noisy. The lock on the door was broken so u can not close the room, old, noisy!!! We could not park the car (because they didn’t have the places) , but this story they were telling to each guests. We even did not sleep there, we didn’t feel us in safe and we were obliged to buy another room. as we payed in advanced and only after saw the room , of course they didn’t want to back the money and they didn’t care about it. What a shame! I hope u will not have clients at all! Happy New Year!

I was a little concerned when I read the reviews but couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. First of all the staff, all exceptional, Tiago on reception, Paula who is bar restaurant manager and a lovely lady in the bar sorry didn’t catch her name! All warm friendly and very helpful! The room was warm, very clean and very comfortable! We looked out onto the back wall but no matter someone painted a view of the mountains which was a great idea! Comfortable, lovely bathroom all good! Food in the bar/restaurant was really good, we ate in the bar as we had our Jack Russell with us, they were happy to let us eat in restaurant but was great in the bar and really comfortable! Parking never an issue, parked outside every night, so lovely we booked an extra night! Yes it’s slightly out of Soldeu but if you want to be central you need to book appropriately and not blame the hotel. There are buses regularly so no issue! Supermarket next door. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again
