FISHING:
Cape Coral has such great fishing because we are surrounded by the Caloosahatchee River on one side and Matlacha Pass on the other. These estuary waters are protected by a mangrove preserve bordering the Cape, which creates a perfect habitat for all kinds of fish.
Inshore fishing: Cape Coral has redfish, trout, bass, tarpon, snook, snapper, Spanish mackerel, grouper, tripletail, sheepshead, and more.
Offshore fishing: Grouper, snapper, kingfish, cobia, tuna, amberjack, Spanish mackerel, shark, barracuda, tarpon, mahi, wahoo, and giant red fish.
DIVING:
Southwest Florida Shipwrecks
There are more Cape Coral diving opportunities, not only can you explore and fish from artificial reefs, but there are also several shipwrecks off the coast of Ft Myers:

The Stoney Point - 1968 - 26*20.358/83*22.860 - This is a former Hudson River Ferry.

Darling stay
It was located in a quite neighborhood. The house was clean and stocked with dishes that we needed. Would rent it again if I needed a place to stay.

CAPE CORAL 2025
Nice quiet area in which I could ride my bike safely. Was able to easily get to various events since the density of streets and traffic signals was low.

WFH Month Away
Great quiet house for our month away from the midwest. Plenty of room for our work from home purposes and it would have accommodated 6 people just fine. Didn’t have any problems during the stay and communication via text with owner was good. Home needs a deep clean as fridge was dirty and outside furniture wasn’t really useable from dirty/dusty cushions. Water softener was turned up high making the water and ice taste like soap. But all in all an enjoyable stay.

Pictures are deceiving
I booked this property because of the reviews and the pictures. The pictures are old and the reviews say the owner is prompt in responding but he wasn’t with us. This is not a brand new house and it sleeps six not eight. It is not very close to anything either. I asked about the TV the day after we got there and it took the owner a week to let me know that there was an antenna. There should be some kind of a paper there that explains that. The biggest problem was the water heater. It broke two weeks after we were there. I emailed the owner twice, called and left a message and texted him. I waited 24 hours and called Vrbo then he responded only after they called him. I really don’t think he would’ve responded if I hadn’t called Vrbo and we would’ve been out of hot water longer than the two days that we were out. The kitchen, patio and garage need a thorough cleaning. Thank goodness for the Florida sunshine.

Great "home"
It didn't take long to accept this
property as our "second home". It's clean, roomy and comfortable. It's a great place to relax after busy days in a quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the "cape".
