Our stay at Ferntree Rainforest Lodge was absolutely incredible! As two friends from Cairns visiting for the weekend, we couldn’t have asked for a better rainforest retreat. We stayed in the Garden Loft Plus+, and WOW—what a stunning space. The multiple scenic windows looking straight into the rainforest made us feel completely immersed in nature, and the loft area would be perfect for families with kids. The beds were super comfortable, and the room was lovely and clean. We also loved the outdoor kitchenette, which was fully equipped and perfect for relaxing with a meal or a coffee while listening to the sounds of the forest. The pool area was another highlight—so scenic and peaceful, the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. And the staff? Absolutely amazing. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, making sure we had the best stay possible. Special shoutout to Eili (sorry if we got the spelling wrong!) at the bar for mixing up some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. And the parmys at the restaurant? Hands down, the best we’ve ever eaten. We loved the lively atmosphere on Friday night, with the stars shining above and good vibes all around. We also did the Night Walk which leaves straight from reception—such an easy and exciting way to experience the Daintree after dark. And after all that adventure, we had the best sleep, lulled into relaxation by the sounds of the rainforest. Ferntree Rainforest Lodge is the perfect mix of comfort, adventure, and nature—highly recommend it for anyone visiting Cape Tribulation! 🌿✨

Absolutely awful experienced. We arrived to find zero reception/admin staff. No lights on in a dark rainforest environment. No contact number to reach staff. We walked the entire run down site looking for staff, to no avail The pool was full of debris and algae. The walkways are a slip hazard with more debris and wet foliage. Zero cleaning. Actually looked and felt like an abandoned site. Found a (presumably) squatter who was reluctant to explain the situation, who effectively closed the door on our earnest enquiries. Eventually found a kinder gentleman who called 'reception'. The 'manager' explained that the site had been abandoned due to an imminent cyclone. There is no cyclone. Which we know because we live in nearby Cairns and are hyper alert/vigilant to local weather alerts. We were offered to stay the night as per our booking, at full price... with no pool, no restaurant and sketchy staff engagement that left us with no trust in the venue nor the experience. Hard no thanks. It's worth mentioning that we've stayed here before, 2 years ago, and had the polar opposite experience. Very difficult to understand what happened to the place between now and then.

We booked a ‘luxury’ eco lodge for our family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 teenagers. It was NOT luxury in any way ! The rooms were dirty, the bathroom stank, and dirty. The toilet seat broken. There as no little extras for the kitchenette - we had to ask the restaurant for bowls and spoons for our morning cereal. Needs a big update ! The loft also had no PowerPoint which was an issue to not be able to charge phones. The pool was not clean ! My son did not want to stay in it for longer as it had algae. On a positive - the restaurant was lovely . Very very basic for the price !!!!

We stayed in a Garden Loft for 3 nights. The location is beautiful, the staff were all great and the onsite restaurant served fantastic food. The loft offers tea/coffee facilities and a small fridge. It was clean with comfortable beds and a covered deck outside the room.

Didnt stay at the resort, but went for dinner, amazing place, best cocktails ever, great food. These guys care about what they offer and how they do things. Lovely boardwalk out door areas, unfortunately didnt get to see the accommodation. the pool was closed for maintenance, but looked like a lovely spot for a dip.

I was concerned about what we might find travelling as a family into the rainforest. Reviews were varied, and this is a remote location. I need not have worried - this location and the lodge was perfect for me and my family. It was beautiful and in the depths of the jungle. My only regret was that we did not stay longer. I wondered how we would fill the time, but I did not leave us with nearly long enough to just enjoy the wonderful location. Having said all of that, you need to go with the right expectations - if you are looking for the Hilton you will be disappointed. The location is remote and the amenities are basic. We stayed in a garden loft, which was spacious and great value. It was simply furnished, but had all we needed, and my son (11) took great delight in climbing a ladder to his bed in the eves. There was a fridge and kettle in the room, but no cooking facilities. Leaving any food out of the fridge for longer than about 5 minutes attracted rainforest inhabitants, but keeping everything wiped down and food in a sealed fridge resolved that easily. If you are fussy about coffee (I am), you will want to bring your own makings. Everything worked. As advised by the staff, switching the A/C mode to dry and using the ceiling fan was best for reducing the humidity. The shower was not amazing, but it worked, and in a remote area it fully met my expectations. You cannot swim at Cape Trib beach, but there is no need to because the pool at Ferntree is lovely, and we enjoyed swimming surrounded by the amazing rainforest. The Cassowary restaurant was one of the better places we ate on our holiday, with the locally caught fish being especially good. They were open for breakfast and into the evening, and there are a couple of other places to eat nearby. The staff were amazing, and we are thankful to everyone we met there for sharing their amazing jungle location with us. If we are lucky enough to visit the Daintree again we will stay at Ferntree Rainforest Lodge without hesitation. I highly recommend this amazing and unique place to stay.

I only stayed here one night but I had a great time. Cape Tribulation has a wonderful community; between the Ferntree Rainforest Lodge, Far North Escapes, and PKs the hosts were able to liaise to make sure everything worked out regarding check in, timings for tours, and sorting out grub! Thanks for being so helpful and welcoming
