This is what's called a Maison d'hôtes or Chambres d'hôtes in France, or a B&B or Guest House in English. Very spacious room with a partial view of the citadel. Decent breakfast. Paid parking in a nearby building, which can be reserved in advance. The only "negative" was that our room wasn't made up on the first day. When we asked, we were told that we had to leave a sign on the room door and the keys on the panel. There was no sign or information on the subject in our room.

A beautiful, modern accommodation at the foot of the fortress. You can reach the city center in less than 5 minutes, and there are many restaurants, bars, and supermarkets within walking distance. The accommodation offers self check-in and check-out, and everything went smoothly. It was reasonably priced. Large, modern rooms, a great outdoor area with a small pool for lovely summer evenings. The breakfast was good and plentiful. As a solo traveler, I felt very comfortable and safe and would have happily stayed longer in such accommodation in picturesque Carcassonne.
