Very clean. Super nice people. Great breakfast. Easy to get to everything in Carcassonne. Convenient for collecting your Les Canalous canal barge. Very close to the railway from Toulouse or Narbonne. Close to some very nice restaurants.

This is an unfussy hotel outside the old Cité, walking distance from the train station and another 15-20 minute walk to the walled town. While this is an older hotel there is evidence of cosmetic updates--our ensuite bathroom was lovely. The breakfast was modest but welcome. My biggest compliment are to the two ladies who made us feel very welcome, and they were so helpful in securing a cab for us when my kindergarten level French obviously failed.

The receptionist was helpful when we arrived but we were very disappointed with this hotel after reading good reviews. The decor was tired with chipped paint on doorways and mould on our bathroom wall. A second room we booked had hair on the sheets when we booked in. My husband and I woke covered in bites, which we can’t be sure was due to the bed in the hotel but we didn’t have them going to bed.

This hotel small but friendly, serving bed and breakfast only, is central to Carcassonne main town the railway station, canal boat trips and river. Not far away is the old and fortified town of Carcassonne and is a spectacle to see for a day excursion travelling there by the Petit train. Hotel de la Bastide has four floors and a lift to get you up to the floors you require. The rooms are ensuite with bath or shower and have king size beds. Carcassonne has many surprises in store every corner you turn is different and interesting and many restaurants to choose from for main meals. The tourist information is right by the canal side. There is also a hourly shuttle bus to and from the airport picking up and dropping off at the railway station. An excellent four days and night had by all with thanks to the staff at this great find.

Stayed one night. Located a 5-minute walk from the train station. Walls seem to be thin and one can hear conversations, TV and showers from other rooms - fortunately it quieted down after hours. My room was small and very basic but clean. Amenities included an electric kettle. Comfortable bed and pillows. Enough power jacks. Dimly lit bathroom. Handheld shower only, good water pressure. Decent wifi. Friendly staff. Overall a good value for price.

Stayed here with intrepid tour. Quite a basic accomodation but clean and well presented. Mouldy shower and lumpy pillow was not great but the kettle with tea was good, staff were lovely and breakfast was good. Location quite central too. Being an old building the walls are very thin so you had better tiptoe, whisper and wear earplugs to sleep.

Located near Carcassonne train station, no more than 10 minutes' walk away. It is the cheapest hotel closest to the train station. The hotel and rooms are okay. The staff were friendly and spoke ok English. Wifi is fast enough. No refrigerator. In the booking details it was stated that there was a kettle but in fact there was none. But you can borrow it at the reception.
