One of the best trip we ever had thanks in part to a great wonderful experience we had with the Juma family! Our experience started with a airport pickup by Marcos who took us to their Opera Hotel in Manaus to keep extra bags and have a quick bite. To reach the lodge we had to navigate via road and water and it was a very James Bond like ride! Watching the meeting of the rivers, seeing the pink dolphins on the way were treat enough. The main experience started once we reached the lodge and can't say enough great things of the hospitality and welcome we received from the whole staff. From the time they picked us up till we left Manaus everyone was very attentive and polite! Special mention of Robert who was overseeing the day-to-day operations and ensured we were comfortable for the whole trip. Seeing our struggles with the heat, humidity they upgraded / moved us into their best room that was the largest and had AC, bigger balcony with sun chairs, hammocks etc and that was the cherry on top!! The whole experience was enhanced by our daily guide "Leon (the Lion)". He is one of the most happiest, positive, and knowledgeable person I have met! From day 1 he made us comfortable, including us wholly into the existing group and in no time we were talking and laughing with others as if knowing them since childhood. Leon's knowledge and his experience of the Amazon (and other areas) shines through during the jungle walks, cayman spotting or even just during chitchat. We have done a lot of tours and with guides who were knowledgeable but Leon was the first who made everyone feel like a family and weave all that knowledge into a story that stays with you even after you leave. We will surely be back one day.... till then "Boa Noite!!! Bom Dia!!! Obrigado!!!"

There isn't wifi in every room, just in the reception, pretty good connection. Unlike someone else pointed out, yes, there is drinkable cold water taps in the reception and the restaurant and some water bottles in the bedroom. The food is delicious, but you may get sick because the food there is very different so just take it slow and know your limits, there are less hardcore options, my fiance got sick from the food in Manaus before we got to the hotel, after we've arrived she had easy on the stomach foods like cattle/chicken meat, rice and salad, as well as a great variety of teas and medicine. She got better quickly and had a blast. I wouldn't reccomend staying less than three nights, there's a lot to see here.

Worth experience ever. I have not seen such scamming people before. Don't believe a word they say. We went for 4 nights and we asked their manager at hotel that we are getting flights to San Paola at 3am in night so can we leave one day ahead and not be charged ? He confirmed to us that yes we could. We booked flights and left one day early and then we saw that we got charged for all 4 nights. And after that they say that they cannot refund. We left early after getting approval. If that was the case we would have stayed one more night as before. While we were there, we only went on boat and looked at trees. There is nothing else to do and there are no other activities. They show so many activiites when you are booking but you don't spot any animals or anything else. You are just paying for staying at their lodge in jungle and see nothing. Food is bad. Service is bad. No AC and it is super hot. You will probably have more fun in a zoo than amazon lodge.

My experience at Juma Amazon Lodge was above my expectations. It was high dry season level, so pay attention, when to book your trip. There are some bungalows without air condition, which it is impossible to stay in, so check it well upon reservation. The chef, Mr. Luis, prepared the most delicious Tambaqui fish, and my great guide Leon, was indeed, the hotel best visit card. I will come back to Juma at the raining season, when the river level may go up to 18 meters.

The Lodge is clean and comfortable. The food is excellent, staff are knowledgeable and friendly and rooms are comfortable. Nelson was a great guide and all the tours were fun and exciting! My group had a great time. The chef was great and super accommodating to my vegetarian needs.

Everything about this lodge and the people working there was amazing. The food, the activities, the guides and the general atmosphere is First Class. A varied list of activities is offered by the guides, and whilst these are optional, I strongly recommend that you try each one as they all provide a unique experience. All the guides are friendly and approachable as are all the staff working there. I like many other reviewers would like to mention our guide, Nelson, who willingly provided information, advice and a smile.

Simply outstanding. Our experience at Juma Lodge was amazing and our guide, Nelson, was brilliant. The accommodation is breathtaking: lodges on stilts with walkways overlooking the rainforest with views of monkeys, birds and sounds of the jungle. It’s predictably hot and we relied on fans to keep cool at night but there’s a promise of AC being installed soon. The restaurant has ridged meal times (to work around your excursions) but the food is amazing: fresh, local, varied and filling. The fish was especially delicious. The highlight of any Juma stay though is the activities: in 2 days we did two jungle walks, piranha fishing, a sunrise view, a nighttime caiman adventure, and visit to a local homestead. Nelson, our guide, delivered each activity with enthusiasm, expertise and a great sense of joy in sharing his knowledge and experiences. He really made our trip and we can’t recommend him highly enough. Downtime between activities can be spent at the pool, the bar, or in a hammock - heaven! Our group was a bit divided in that some loved the structure and volume of activities, when others wanted more downtime. All I’d say is to book aware that this is a trip of a lifetime with unforgettable experiences rather than a ‘flop at the beach’ style stay. I can’t recommend Juma Lodge highly enough - and I’m thoroughly jealous that those reading this review might soon be able to enjoy the experience we had
