The hotel is very good, not far from the highway. We drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles and stayed here on the last stop on Highway 1. The experience was very good. The location is relatively remote. It takes more than half an hour to take a taxi from the UCSB campus to the hotel, and the taxi fare + tips is about $40. There is an Albertsons supermarket and convenience store nearby, a small swimming pool, and not much else. There is a public bus at the entrance of the hotel lobby to the city. However, when you get to the city, you still have to transfer to another bus to get to UCSB. The whole journey takes about one and a half hours. Although the price is cheaper, the location is not very convenient.
