Property Description
DESCRIPTION: Whether looking for a restful retreat or hoping to visit one of the many nearby locations, this home is a peaceful and quiet location to settle in for a comfy night’s sleep. Plan to spend the evenings on the outdoor seating by the koi pond, listening to the frogs, and watching the sunsets. If you come in the spring, you will also hear the spring peepers (frogs) singing their mating calls at night. You can see deer out on what we lovingly call "the back 40"; they love to come out and eat the fresh grass looking for nuts from the chestnut trees. FYI We keep the nightly price low so that it will fit everyone's budget; we just want to provide a clean, comfortable place for you to come and relax while you head out on daily adventures. As you can see from the pictures, the unit is welcoming and ready for you to come visit! This refurbished mother-in-law apartment has a spacious living room, a beautiful curb-less tile shower with fold-down teak bench, a kitchenette with microwave and 2-burner stove-top, and a peaceful outdoor space. The outdoor space is shared with the homeowners; no worries, they roll up the sidewalks by 8 pm each night and you’ll have the porch to yourselves. There is a 55-inch Roku TV in the living room and free wi-fi for your other devices. The door has a deadbolt and you have an access code that is valid throughout the duration of your visit. Check-in is contactless; you will be texted the door code for your visit. Private, off-street parking for two cars is behind the house. Pull past the house and park in the area on the stones. Your private entry is on the back porch. Please note: This unit is ATTACHED to our home. There is an insulated wall between the unit and our home and several walls between the unit and our main living area. We keep the porch curtains closed from supper until the am. We try to be respectful when guests are in the unit but you may occasionally hear us talking in the kitchen and may smell cooking smells (hopefully good ones!). POLICIES: Important information you need to know - If something is missing, broken, or you need help in any way, please message the Host so that they can address the problem for you ASAP. - Safety features at this property include a carbon monoxide detector, a smoke detector, and a deadbolt lock coded just for you. Check the amenities list for everything included. - There are complimentary beverages and snacks available for you. If you run out of the complimentary snacks, there are several options for you to purchase additional supplies: Dollar Tree, Dollar Store, and Giant Grocery, Breakfast is not included. - Please Note: Child-friendly does not mean the area is child-proof. It is the responsibility of the guardian/parent to monitor their children's actions at all times. - This includes the koi pond; visitors should remain on the porch or driveway and not walk on the stones surrounding the pond. Other random, and sometimes weird, requests. - Please do not feed the fish. - Please do not rearrange the furniture. - Do not rinse any food or grease down the kitchen sink drain. - The septic system would appreciate it if you do not flush any trash, paper towels, flush--a-ble wipes, baby wipes, feminine products, condoms, diapers, or anything that is not toilet paper down the toilet. - Please lock the door on your way out. - Damage Protection: This option is turned off for your booking. Our guests have been amazing and we've never had any problems with damage; thus, we turned that option off when you are booking. That also means, that by booking with us you are agreeing to pay for any damages we find when you leave; this will occur as an additional charge. And, yes, we would message you immediately if we find something amiss. Again, just an FYI; we don't expect any issues! PS We chose this option to save you money when you are booking! THINGS TO DO: Mt. Airy Orchard: This farm is worth a visit, stopping for some ice cream or just a basket of fruit or search for a pumpkin in the Pumpkin Patch in the fall. Cozy and Comfy I stay here when I am working in the area for a few days - I am away from dawn to dusk so can't comment on how the days are - but it is very quiet in the evenings and that is much appreciated!
