Hotel Herreros

Passing through Castellon, we find this simple but very clean and recently renovated hotel (our room looked like it belonged in a higher category hotel). The receptionist who is also the owner kindly offered us the double room for €50 with private indoor parking (included in the price). Prices will probably vary according to the season, as they should, but based on our personal experience we can only give 5 stars for the value for money.

We booked 3 months ago. We had specified that we would be accompanied by a small dog. No problem. When we arrived, no problem either. The next morning another person at reception who kicked us out altogether. Still asking us if we would like to have breakfast. We declined.

We were there the night of March 19 and everything was perfect. The hotel is small and very cozy, we felt at home. The room was clean and spacious, we were able to sleep 4 people in a triple room without any space problems. All renovated and very comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant, the food was delicious and the staff very friendly. The perfect location, you follow the street straight to the end and you arrive at the port promenade. The very quiet area, a stone's throw from Castellón city. Without a doubt, if we return to the area, we will stay at the same hotel again.

We ate the special menu and the portions are very good. We ordered a rice between two and we even had enough to get home. It was very good. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We were with a girl and they behaved very well with her. The desserts are also very good in quantity.

Hotel-Restaurant with a neighborhood and hard-working atmosphere, to spend one or two days, it is not close to the beaches so you will have to take a car or transportation. Noises in the rooms from the outside (there is a road with a lot of traffic) and from other rooms. Poorly soundproofed. Elevator noise. Air conditioning with odors and noise. Filters not clean. Dust in less visible areas, above the TV, headboard of the bed, etc. Smells from the restaurant below. Parking on the other side of the street, they give you a space by insisting. No refrigerator in the rooms. Smoking rooms. They can't tell you what the €5 breakfast includes. Small but clean bathroom. Good Wifi. Smart TV, although small, has streaming services available and looks pretty good. Good coffee. Good sandwiches and toast. Good shower, water without temperature problems. Clean towels and sheets. Price quality depends on the time and location you need: acceptable although I would not return and at most spend one night if there is nothing else, it was the same price as a 4* hotel in the center of Castellón
