This restaurant needs some help. Servers were not friendly, poor music choice, shabby interior decor, and overall lackluster vibes. The food itself wasn’t great, aside from the fish and chips which my husband liked. There was a HAIR in my salad and the restaurant still charged us for it. I think this place is only ‘popular’ because there is no competition in the village. Overpriced and not worth your money or time.

This review is for the restaurant only. The fish of fish and chips was so overcooked that the batter shattered rather that cut crisply. Pea puree was a thin smear in a tiny saucer and the salad I had instead of chips was very small. The food was overpriced, overcooked and meagre in quantity. The hot chocolate afterwards was the best part of the meal!

I cannot give enough plaudits to the Castle Inn at Castle Combe. It was perfect in every way ..... our room was superb, the food was excellent, and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and efficient staff. I have stayed in suites in five star and other luxury hotels all over the world but frankly this is my absolute favourite. Like the village, the Castle Inn has a certain magic about it.

This place is disappointing for several reasons. Firstly, it has glaring lights which you don't notice until you have sat down. Secondly the interior decor is dull, and feels like a missed opportunity. I ordered the most expensive fish and chips, for a sliver of fish and potato wedges (advertised as skin on chips). Some wedges were hard, grey with black eye. The servers never once asked if the food was ok. This pub is certainly resting on its laurels as the location is picturesque.

What a lovely village with a great pub in the middle. Popped in for lunch on a Friday, it was busy but we were welcomed and seated quickly. The menu had a good variety of options without being overwhelming. Service and food were excellent. Overall highly recommend… well worth the walk back up the hill !!

Truly terrible service. Staff couldn't have cared less about us or demonstrated more clearly - ignoring us, walking away as we were ordering and leaving a door wide open (in early March) so they could get out to the terrace more easily but leaving us (and another table) sitting in a freezing draught. The food is fine but the menu is more ambitious than the skill in the kitchen so that didn't make up for the way we were treated. It's obviously a very beautiful place and will continue to attract huge numbers of people but go for the views and go somewhere else for your lunch!

This place is an absolute gem outstanding in everyway, we stopped for a night enroute back from the Cotswolds and what a find. A very friendly welcome right from the get go nothing too much trouble, was shown to our room which was massive with the biggest bed you have ever seen it was called an Alaskan, very clean very tidy same could be said about the bathroom. We booked a table for that evening, again everyone very friendly, professional and knew what they were doing nothing too much trouble. The food for a pub was little more than outstanding, it was 5* excellent better than alot of hotels we have stayed in, a good choice on the menu and very competitive prices, nearly all home made, the braised beef and treacle tart are a must have. Plenty of wine to choose from again very competitive prices. It can be said a full dinning experience which you would not normally find from a pub. Lovely breakfast the next plenty of choice and even with one staff member down it was handled very well with not much wait. We will without doubt be back again, thank you very much to the whole team at the Castle.

Dined here the other week and was lovely! We had the scallops and parfait to start and then the pork rib and the potato rosti, and everything was delicious! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely look at returning in the near future!
