Premier Inn Cardiff City Centre (Queen Street)

We arrived at Cardiff Central by train, which is 15mins walking to this Premier Inn. It was very welcoming and staff friendly, rooms clean, with as much tea and coffee, which you took from the travellers store at the main entrance. My only gripe is as I have dietary requirements, They couldn't cater for them and had to make do with what was on offer. No gluten free food at night, Only what I would call general burgers, lasagne, steak battered fish and chips. Only veg on offer was peas. In this day and age Hotels need to cater for a variety of people's health conditions. Vegan/vegetarians are not Gluten free or Ibs sufferers or Celiacs. Which are complicated problems. It would be helpful if they offered something which could be adapted. .

Convenience areas, nice staff and services

Weekend of the 6 Nations, So why not triple the price, AND decrease the service by 3 times. Just a premier inn with No staff to run the hotel. Can't clean the room. Only 1 chef Only one waitress I feel sorry for them having to work with limited staff and no help. Premier inn, Your charging 3 x the cost on an event weekend, pay your staff the same if you're charging it.

I was booked in to a show Friday and Saturday with my other half and never stayed in premier inn before it was a pleasure experience the staff was brilliant could not do enough for you location is spot on as I was going to the new theatre so it was perfect as a couple mins walk the room was first class ony downside and this is a small thing booked the breakfast which was lovely apart from the bacon for some unknown reason had a vile taste on it would I stay here again 100% I would

We usually feel confident booking this brand of hotel. Unfortunately this time we were put in room 120 which must hit the odd point that the building is shaped in which meant a huge room with 1 tiny vent to warm it. It was freezing! We put the heat up to max 24 degrees while we went out for the evening. But again through the night it clicked off and we were scrambling for our jumpers in the morning. When we wrote to complain to the hotel we were told we should have spoke to reception at the time and therefore our complaint would be disregarded. Really unacceptable from such a huge brand. The current building work is also loud and unsightly. I’d go for the Travel Lodge over the way that offers free parking too!
