Arrived early evening to a friendly welcome, the reception area was informal and staff readily available. Room was cosy and well equipped with tea and coffee
and two bottles of still spring water. Two sets of towels ample storage space and a cosy double bed with extra fluffy pillows (3). Ensuite shower and toilet in the room and smart tv with wifi and chromecast facility. Great tucked away from main road location with easy access to adjoining pub/restaurant. Ideally situated for local attractions like diggerland, xscape, and royal armories. Good value fir money

The hotel is relatively simple. There is a loud noise when the room is plugged in. You can only sleep when the power is turned off. The price is increased temporarily due to the large number of people. I don't recommend it.

Arrived and went to the room. On entering the room I noticed the wall lights didnt work, i checked and there was no bulbs in them so I left the main ceiling lights on. My friend and I were in the room for about 45 minutes and there was a loud bang and we were sat in the dark. Thinking there must of been a power cut we looked in the corridoor but the lights were on. When the lights didn't come back on in the room I went to reception, the lady came and looked at the fuseboard and tried to switch the electric back on. But nothing in the room was working. I asked for another room but was told they were fully booked. I filled out an incident form and had to leave, bonfire night out ruined!! I was told the manager would ring me about a refund but he didn't. I rang the hotel 3 times to be told the manager would be in touch. He wasn't I have emailed Accor hotel who own Ibis but they say we will inform the hotel management and they will be in touch they haven't I am now taking this Hotel to court and believe there was faulty electrics in the room as we never touched or switched anything on electrical except the ceiling lights. The consumer rights Act 2015 covers hotel rooms that are not fit to stay in, electricity in the room would be reasonable to expect I believe. All I asked for was my money back for a service I did not receive.

Second stay, hotel looked quite busy, the room itself was modern and clean.. I realised at 8pm there was no hot water at all. The shower was freezing cold, no water coming out of the tap. I tried to contact reception and there was no response, when I found the receptionist she’d locked herself out of her office and was waiting for an emergency key to get back in so she could report it and investigate. Past 10pm we had no update, it was still off in the morning.. was unable to have a wash. There was no apology, no offer of a partial refund.. next time we’ll be booking a premier

Stayed here for the weekend on the top floor. Receptionist very helpful and pleasant. Room recently renovated and brilliant apart from having no bulbs fitted in the lamps so it was a very BRIGHT room as only the ceiling lights working. ( The receptionist said it was because they had to re-order the right size bulbs?). Loved the new decor. Had a bit of a job managing to find channels on the tv but it was a nice big wall mounted one. Air con was good and heated the room nicely. Liked the fact that the windows opened. Bathroom small but very clean and adequate. Shower not that powerful. Corridors a bit too dark… could do with a lighter paint colour. But the bed… both the mattress and pillows…WOW… so comfy it was hard to get out of!! Cleaning staff helpful. Didn’t use the restaurant for evening meal or breakfast. Friday night it was totally empty and Saturday night it was heaving with a private party. We used the nearby restaurants to eat. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
