We stayed here for our anniversary. It was one of the best weekends away w have ever had. The staff are so friendly and warm. So professional. Every area is spotlessly clean and very noticeable. We used the spa and had a treatment, again the staff were amazing and so helpful. Especially Anna and Sinead . I would highly recommend . We had a little gift of chocolates as It was our anniversary. Their attention to detail is second to none and we can’t wait to return.

Well , what a time staying here at the castle. It says 4star but believe me it's a 5star experience . Staff can't do enough for you ,friendly and helpful, the castle itself is a fantastic place ,a wonderful restoration. Room was spacious ,the bed was comfortable ,and the food here is excellent ! Beautiful extensive grounds with walks through the wood by the shoreline. Delighted we found this gem we will return .

We chose Kilronan Castle for a relaxing break and to explore it as a potential wedding venue. Sadly, the experience was deeply disappointing from start to finish. On arrival, we found someone else’s underwear and hair accessories in our room—along with hair all over the bed. The room had clearly not been cleaned properly, which was shocking for a hotel claiming to be a luxury destination. To make matters worse, we were woken abruptly by a loud alarm with no explanation or apology. Breakfast was no better—reheated, watery eggs that arrived suspiciously fast, confirming they weren’t freshly made. Basic quality control seemed to be completely lacking. When we addressed these issues, there was no real concern. We were moved rooms but received no apology or effort to make amends. At checkout, we asked to speak to the manager (Mohamed), who was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. He told us we’d been given an upgrade—as if that excused the unhygienic conditions. He eventually deducted a bottle of wine from our bill, but only after pushing. The biggest disappointment? We had genuinely been considering Kilronan Castle as our wedding venue. The wedding coordinator was professional and kind, but the overall experience destroyed any trust we had in the hotel. When we mentioned this to the manager, he shrugged—it couldn’t have mattered less to him. We left feeling let down, frustrated, and completely unimpressed. We absolutely will not be returning, and we cannot in good faith recommend this hotel to anyone.

This place is beautiful. It makes you feel special just being there. The dark wood is perfect, not oppressive. Our room was spectacular with a view of the lake. Food was wonderful, including an impressive afternoon tea. The boxed leftovers were great snacks later. I would go back.

Having just returned from another brilliant stay in Kilronan Castle I had to say what a great stay it was. We were there for 4 nights in a castle room which was beautifully furnished with fabulous views over Lough Meelagh. Staff were so welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for Mary and Neha at breakfast. We ate in the Palm court and also Ramona showed us the way to the lovely patio where we enjoyed an amazing sandwich in the sunshine. Food was delicious. The castle is magnificent as are the grounds with plenty of walks by the lake and through the woods. Also we used the leisure centre with its swimming pool a couple of times. It’s always sad leaving this unique place. However we look forward to another stay soon. Robert and Allen. Belfast.

Myself and my mum recently visited the beautiful Kilronan Castle for an Afternoon tea. It was an exceptional experience… the atmosphere… the service and the quality of food was amazing. I am a Coeliac and so much thought and effort was made to ensure my experience was as tasty as my mums. Would highly recommend an afternoon tea experience in Kilronan.

What a fantastic hidden gem of luxury and relaxation. We had a lovely time here and cannot wait to return. We arrived before our check in time expecting having to wait but not only was our room ready we had been upgrade to the most beautiful suite. The lady who checked us in made us feel so welcome taking time to show us to the lift and explaining where everything was located. Our room was decorated very tastefully and was immaculate. Our 4 poster bed was very comfortable. The meal we had in the Douglas Hyde restaurant on our first night was by far one of the top meals we have ever had in an Irish hotel. The waiting staff were so knowledgeable and courteous Aoibhe was especially friendly. We were there for storm Eowyn and even though the driveway was blocked with trees and some staff couldn’t travel to work the service at breakfast was fantastic. We were greeted by Ann who made us feel like we were the only guests there even though she was so busy. Unfortunately the storm knocked out the power in the spa and the generator only covered the hotel and leisure centre so the treatments we had booked had to be cancelled. We had lunch in the bar and dinner there on the second evening again beautiful food a lovely menu and very attentive polite staff. We were delighted to have found Kilronan and have both agreed we will make it our annual break away without the children to relax and switch off. The staff are lovely the decor and ambience are second to none and we cannot wait to return. Thank you Kilronan
