The downside was that they didn't have toilet paper, so it was out of service. I don't know, the bed is a bit small. I can sleep well in a quiet room. Photo from the terrace

The hotel is dissapointing. Has a good location and wifi, but unfortunately it is very dirty. Location is very good, close to the Piazza del Duomo. Parrarel to the main street. Contactless check in and check out. Good wifi connection. Dirt everywhere - dusty floors, dust in the bathroom, dirty sink and toilet. Rust in the shower. Paint peeling from the wall in the bathroom. View from the window (room nr 1). Dirty wall from coffee. Dirty coffee machine. I contacted with the customer service via WhatsApp and I was told I can try another room, which bathroom condition was disguisting as well. I decided to stay in the one I was check in already. They have told me that they have scheduled deep cleaning for winter (I was staying there in September).

I really wanted to enjoy this hotel/bed & breakfast but I cannot recommend to anyone. I've waited a week before writing this review - I booked through ******* who funnily enough won't let me write a review...is it because there are known problems I only stayed 1 night out of 3 without any goodwill refund! There was no welcome checkin ust call a number and send over your passport info in exchange for a pass code to gain entry - very impersonal - also told to leave tourist taxes money on the side in my room (not likely as no receipt!) The place is clean but it's also very dark the room has ensuite but the step is double the normal (building regulations) height which is dangerous for anyone well or afflicted in anyway there was Breakfast food in the room but only coffee and water to drink no tea! There is a TV which dominates the room but worst of all the bed faces the door so your feet point outwards to the door VERY BAD sleeping position and finally the door handle came away in my hand on arrival prior to even entering the room! BUT this was fixed before bedtime. I cannot recommend this place to anyone - I expect the owner who had other matters to tend with instead of welcoming guestswas happy to meet me on my departure but reluctant to refund the remaining two days stay which is understandable as it was booked through ******* whom I do not trust anymore as they don't vet their properties so whats the point! There needs to be someone to welcome guests -there needs to be light in the place to make it welcoming and the bed position needs to be reviewed and most importantly the step to the ensuite is danpgerously high. I wish I didn't have to say all this but its true. I see that previous reviewers of this place have endured the owner wrath in response - but I'd like to say take the reviews as an opportunity to learn and improve the property not as a personal attack.

Tiny room with no window and quite dated. The bathroom sink was all rusty. The breakfast included that they talked about was some supermarket snacks and coffee pods. Overall I absolutely do not recommend it

We booked our stay in Catania through smartbox and unfortunately it didn't go as we hoped. The place looks good, small but welcoming. Our room was very nice, also small, but pleasant. The problems arrive the first evening: when we return we find a cockroach that slips between the tiles, we contact the owners who rush to us. They close the gap and the problem seems to be solved. In the morning they come back to check and tell us that everything is ok. We obviously trust them, but in the evening we return and find another one running around the room. We manage to kill it (we have the photo that proves it, but I would avoid attaching it) and we try to contact the owners again. I don't answer the call or the messages and so we decide to leave by paying for another hotel without the knowledge of the managers who were not at all concerned. The answer came the evening of the next day: they believe that it came out with the disinfestation, or rather the spraying of DDT done in the morning. Small detail, the cockroach was alive and did not die because of the disinfestation, but thanks to my boyfriend's shoe.
