Art & Jazz Hotel

This is an otherwise agreeable hotel, but an incident originated by wrong information by the staff, cost us the only day that we had to visit the region. Miscommunication between staff and the director lead a staff member to give us wrong information (about the storage of our luggage) that made us miss the only day that we had to visit the region. On one day, the receptionist told us that next day we could leave our luggage, after the check out, on a dedicated room. We planned the next day (the only one we had) based on that information. But on the next the the new receptionist told us that wouldn't be possible. Seeing our disappointment, this receptionist called the Diretor trying to figure out a solution, but he was indifferent and maintained the prohibition, dispite acknowledging that we have been given two contradictory informations. This day was completely ruined by this negligence

Excellent location - short 5 minute walk from the central train station in Catania. Quirky decor. Large clean room and excellent bathroom. Excellent breakfast and lovely helpful staff. Great value for money. Wish we could have stayed longer.

An absolutely superb hotel, quirky, clean and comfortable. Lovely friendly staff, always on hand. One of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in. Super room, comfortable bed, fabulous shower room, beautiful breakfast room and a good choice of food and drink at breakfast. All the little extra touches added to our enjoyment of our stay. The pristinely clean room, the sweets, toiletries, and much more. The floating umbrellas, the art & jazz artwork outside (amazing!) …. we really didn’t want to leave. The hotel isn’t in the best streets of Catania, although it’s so handy for the station. However we loved walking around the streets in the morning before we left. We found a fabulous place to eat about 5 minute’s walk away in the evening, Moschettieri, a real typically Sicilian place with delicious home cooked food. We’d go back to The Art & Jazz Hotel in a heartbeat.

We stayed in Catania for one night as part of a very quick trip to Sicily and the city really did nothing for me, but this hotel was great and the star of our stay. We had a very friendly welcome and had a room on the top floor with bedroom upstairs. It felt very grand having a downstairs and upstairs to our room. It was very quiet and we were not disturbed by anything. The mini-bar was stocked and the prices were very reasonable so, for once, we had something from the mini-bar! The towels and bedding all smelt lovely and the bed was very comfortable. We very much enjoyed our breakfast and were well looked after by the member on staff who was on duty. The hotel is well located for the train and bus station, plus it isn’t too far to walk from the centre of the city. It is unlikely that we shall ever visit Catania again but, if we were to go again, we would definitely choose to stay here.

Arriving at Catania airport at 1am, we took a taxi and were greeted with a smile at the 24hr reception and shown to our room... split level with a double bed on the 'ground' floor and another on the gallery. Lovely bathroom, sparklingly clean and simply but pleasantly furnished, this visit was topped off by a free breakfast and an 11:00 checkout. Wouldn't hesitate to return and have already recommend it to friends!
