Our stay at Château Maraval was nothing short of magical. Laurie and Dorian provided personalized service that went above and beyond, making every moment unforgettable. The property itself is an enchanting old convent with a rich history dating back to the Hundred Years' War. Laurie dedicated more than a year to researching the story of the place, diving into historical archives to uncover its fascinating past, which she shared with us during our stay. Perfectly located near the best towns in the region, Château Maraval is a haven of tranquility. The stars at night are breathtaking, and the serene forest brings deer right to your view as you enjoy breakfast. Laurie and Dorian truly made our anniversary unforgettable by filling the room with roses and helping us secure reservations at top spots. Château Maraval is not just a stay; it’s an extraordinary experience of history, beauty, and unmatched hospitality. Highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of staying at Château De Maraval with my family, and it was truly one of the best experiences we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, not only ensuring we had everything we needed at the Château but also offering excellent recommendations for sightseeing, making restaurant reservations, and more. The breakfast was simply outstanding, with a wide variety of delicious options to start our day. The garden and pool area were perfect for relaxation, offering a peaceful escape in a beautiful setting. The location itself is ideal, with easy access to many charming towns and villages, as well as plenty of fun activities nearby. I highly recommend Château De Maraval for anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing getaway. Hopefully we will return again!

Make no mistake - this is “only” a 4 star hotel in name - everything about it is 5 star! The personalised and warm welcome we received upon arrival was carried through with every contact we had with every member of staff. Really lovely people who couldn’t do enough to make our stay wonderful. The hotel itself has recently undergone a lot of investment and the whole place oozes luxury. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer but we’ll be back! In terms of location, it’s perfect for visiting lots of the beautiful places in the Dordogne - all within easy driving distance. This place is a gem - don’t miss it!!

We came to Chateau de Maraval to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday in July and had a wonderful stay. The staff were so attentive and kind and really couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel’s linen and bedding were really high quality, the room was beautiful and the grounds were immaculate. Although there is no dinner option, the staff made a good recommendation for dinner and the platters served would be more than sufficient after a full lunch out. Breakfast was also very nice - at full occupancy, they may need to put more out on the buffet, but we had the luxury of a host who really worked his socks off to get us anything we could have wanted from the kitchen. We will be back!

Chateau Maraval in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne region of France is a wonderfully restored chateau sitting in extensive grounds with a gorgeous swimming pool that we virtually had to ourselves most of the time during our 3 night stay. The temperature of the water was usually in the range of 26-28 degrees - so a pleasant temperature for a nice swim on a sunny day. The restoration of the chateau is in a unique minimalistic style with no expense spared. Currently only a four bedroom bed and breakfast hotel the restoration is striking and stunning in its recreation. Breakfast is delicious with cereals, fruit, bread, cheese, meets and home made jams to choose from. Our hosts the owners Ann-Marie and Thierry Sponne cooked us fresh eggs in a style of our choice. When you are next visiting the Dordogne be sure to include Chateau Maraval in one of your stays.

Je dis une pépite ,mais c'est un diamant. Comme Baudelaire a dit, ici tout est calme ,luxe et volupté. La déco est superbe , de très bon goût et les matériaux de grande qualité. Mais surtout et avant tout, l'accueil et le service sont juste FANTASTIQUES. Le service d'un Hôtel et la convivialité d'une chambre d'hôte, on est comme à la maison. Habitué aux 5 étoiles, vous êtes vraiment au niveau. Encore un grand merci et surtout a bientôt.

Accueil et qualité du service absolument exceptionnels! Tout est fait pour faire plaisir au client et pour une fois ce ne sont pas des mots creux. Tout est de très grande qualité: les conseils de visite, le petit déjeuner, les cocktails de bienvenue, le SPA privatisé pendant une heure, les planches de charcuterie... Tout, absolument tout a été parfait du début à la fin. Et c'est suffisamment rare pour le crier haut et fort 😃 Parc magnifique, chambres spacieuses, piscine chauffée, très peu de chambres pour une intimité parfaite. A recommander 1000 fois !
