Well, what can I say? A stunning location, exquisite food and the best afternoon tea I have ever experienced. This was a treat for my partners Birthday (in relation to this, a free Pumpkin Pie was given to us without prompt!). Our coats were taken, we were offered to sit wherever we please and we selected the drawing room window. WHAT A VIEW! The service from entrance to exit was phenomenal. From doors being held open for us, to politely waiting patiently outside the room for us whilst we were on our way to pay the bill. Every single aspect of today’s experience was well polished, a service of Royal Standard. We will definitely be coming back. The food was incredible and well worthy of the two Michelin Star quality standard you would expect. We would love to stay here with you all sometime and we will be back to try out the festive Afternoon Tea. (It seems everyone wants to meet our new baby!) I do not often go visit this site to leave reviews, but this one is thoroughly deserved. The gentleman that welcomed us today was exceptional in his attention to detail, the ladies in the hallway when we left- very polite and warm, and Cole (on his first day!) was fantastic. A great team, a stunning location, and the most formal dining you will experience in Devon, topped off with beautiful surroundings / views.

We booked the Gourmet Getaway; 2 days of amazing food, rest and relaxation. The meals were fabulously presented by the team, with each course explained to enable us to better appreciate the mix of flavours. Art on a plate. Relaxing hotel lounge and beautiful room overlooking the gardens, perfect for watching the sunrise without getting out of bed!

Highly personalised service is a key feature at this outstanding property. Excellent standards in all areas. Seamless service from arrival to dining. 5 star accommodation and Michelin Star quality in evidence. Very peaceful and relaxing location and setting.

We had an excellent stay and 3 course dinner, everyone was super attentive and the food was amazing. Lovely grounds for walking and very quiet and peaceful setting. Would definitely recommend and return.

Thoroughly recommend. Superb food, thoroughly deserving of the Michelin Star. A wonderful, friendly yet professional group of staff. Lovely atmosphere, the whole property is beautifully presented and a very comfortable and relaxed place to be. It is a few years since we have stayed there and we will return more frequently now as it was a lovely stay.
