Audrey’s Abode is just the place you have been looking for to relax and reconnect with family, friends, nature and a simpler time. Located on a 7 acre hobby farm just south of Jacksonville, Illinois (30 minutes west of Springfield), Audrey’s Abode is a fully restored historic log cabin with all the modern amenities for a comfortable getaway. Need additional space? Check out our other listing next door - Bunkhouse Seventy-Four. Pets are welcome but we charge a $25 pet cleaning fee.The spaceOur unique place is a real, historic log cabin that we relocated from near Lima, Illinois (20 minutes north of Quincy) and have fully restored on our property for guests to enjoy. Reclaimed building materials from over 10 different local barns, houses and structures were used during the restoration process and each contains a fun story about their history or how they were obtained. The result, after 8 years of labor, patience and love, is Audrey's Abode.Guest accessAs our guest, you will have access to the entire cabin. This includes both bedroom spaces - a master bedroom (The Barn Room) on the main floor and a large bedroom space upstairs (The Loft). Plus, full access to our fully furnished kitchen which includes a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove with an oven, microwave, coffee maker and washer and dryer. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cookie sheets, plates, glasses, coffee cups and more in case you decide you'd like to bring your own food and prepare a meal. Need some fresh air? The front porch is a wonderful place to sit and read a book and listen to the sounds of nearby nature.Other things to noteOur neighbors on both sides have small ponds. These are unfortunately off limits to our guest, but since they are in the area, we want to make you aware, especially guests who are traveling with children. Fences and shrubbery separate our property from our neighbors and you will probably not even know the ponds are near by.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About checkIn:Check in after 4:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 18.About events:No events allowed.
