Chalon-sur-Saone Hotels with Wi-Fi

Für die Fahrt in den Süden die Pause für die Nacht entpuppte sichb als ausgezeichnete Buchung. Nah an der Autobahn aber doch ruhig sowohl im Zimmer aber auch abends auf der Terasse, sehr zuvorkommend, deutschsprachig, sauber, genug Platz im Zimmer (wir waren mit einem 5jähriges Kind , reichhaltiges Frühstück, etc. Alles in allem sehr gut!

I booked this hotel because, at a first glance, it looked just fine. Later, I realized I hadn’t read the reviews. That was a mistake. The heatwave in Europe is such that airconditioning is essential and when I did read the reviews of this hotel, I noticed it is an issue. I decided to ring them up, 5 days before we were due to arrive. I told the person on the phone that I was worried about the lack of airconditioning in their hotel, as per the many reviews I read. The receptionist said: “coincidentally, the airconditioning was repaired today”. Really? I double checked and asked her explicitly whether that was the case for the entire hotel. Upon arrival we were given our rooms. “Oh” the receptionist said, “as it happens, the airconditioning in one of the room’s doesn’t work”. Needless to say, I lost it. I confronted her with the telephone call I made and that this was totally unacceptable. I will leave it to the readers of this review what to make of this, I shall refrain of any further remarks. (Do read earlier reviews) In all fairness: the receptionist reacted politely and professionally. She rang up a manager and they offered us a relocation in another hotel. I had to decline this because I was traveling with a 90 year old woman and a relocation would have been too much. We had to put up with the situation. The hotel itself has a very attractive front of house. Nice architecture, wonderful terrace. The lobby and restaurant are stylish and inviting. The back of the house, however, is in sharp contrast with what I just described. The corridors, the lighting and the decor of the rooms are both dated and morose. A totally different style with a distinct lack of character. The phone didn’t work the shower in the bath was difficult to use without flooding the bathroom. The atmosphere was gloomy. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was good. Service in the restaurant was friendly and prompt. Breakfast was very mediocre and the coffee terrible. The hotel does not have a parking, which I understand. But many hotels in similar situations will have negotiated a discount with private parkings for their guests. This hotel had not. The receptionist we dealt with was excellent as well as the lovely barman, who offered a complimentary drink, following the upheaval about the airconditioning. (I could tell they were uneasy about this, because they are very aware of the problem) The staff in this hotel were great, the problem lies with arrogant management. I do not recommend staying in this hotel. I much prefer a hotel where customers are properly respected.

The staff is really great . Smiling , qerviable and available. Good advice. Calm room. Good breakfast and well garnished The rooms are of convenient size. Shower a little. small . Parking very close. close to the center.

to escape, one night passed on September 9, 2022(one but not two),no sound insonorization: doors that clack from 4 a.m.,all hears,one who goes to the toilet(water hunt),one who takes his shower, and people who speak in their room, as well as in the corridors up to unjust hours, the only positive point,the friendly staff of the reception and breakfast

Apart from this problem of a confidential code not received on Sunday which meant that we found a closed door and were unable to enter and only be able to collect our keys thanks to another tenant, the establishment and our studio gave us complete satisfaction: clean and functional premises in a quiet environment, welcoming staff, good value for money in summary.

We stay at this hotel in different locations so were expecting the same quality. We were happy with the room as usual. However, when we sat down for dinner it all changed. Very limited hot food options we selected a pasta dish and a pizza. The pizza was barely cooked in fact it was almost raw dough. The pasta was so over cooked it was like mush. We left both of the dishes. We decided not to complain as the staff were clearly not interested in the fact we had left everything. We should have just gone for the cold buffet. The wine served was also very low grade for the price charged. This is one Campinale we will avoid in the future. A shame because usually this Motel chain offers good service and good food quality.
