I would have given five stars for this hotel, as I was extremely pleased with my stay, while I was on my recent vacation in Switzerland. But unfortunately, the attitude of the folks at the front desk left a bad taste hours after I checked out. it’s so happened that I forgot to take several packages of Swiss chocolates that I had kept in the refrigerator in the room during my stay. I checked out and realized 12-13 hrs. later that I had left behind the chocolate packages. Approximately it cost around $300 but it was a gift that I had purchased for my friends and family during my Swiss vacation and I wanted to distribute them after I arrived back in my home in US. So the first thing I called the hotel from USA explained my situation. Incidentally, the gal who answered the phone was the same who had checked me in, and she quickly recognized me. I told her that I’ll make arrangements to have the chocolate packages picked up from the hotel. She stated that the cleaning people had not reported any leftover items and she cannot help as thereafter the room was given to other hotel guests. She directed me to write an email explaining my situation, which I promptly did, and that they would respond very quickly. But now it has been three days since I checked out, but so far no response. Meantime, my friend who was also traveling in the neighborhood and with whom I would have arranged to get my items picked up, has also moved on and left the country. Long story short….. the callous attitude of one individual that too after the guests had checked out, has earned a poor review for the hotel. I hope the hotel management looks at this review and responds appropriately.
