Well, maybe if they return my calls I would be more positive about this alleged hotel? I called them several times and never got a return response? Rude...However they are available to book on ******* and the like so I know that the business is not dead. Maybe I didn't sound "southern" enough for this establishment...

My friends and I recently stayed at the Brass Pineapple and highly recommend this BnB. The hostess, Lisa, puts her heart into making you comfortable and cooks up the healthiest, tastiest breakfasts and tea-time morsels. The Victorian decor with many antiques brings you back to that era. And the location walkable to the Capitol is so convenient. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay.

We only had one night here, sadly, but it fit our needs so well. Lisa was a thoughtful host and is happy to chat about the history of the home and the Charleston area. Our room was the perfect size, on the 2nd floor. Nice private parking available in the rear. We had a family home to visit nearby and it was such a gift to be able to walk there from the inn. We also could walk along the river and over to the Capitol, easily. I needed to access the state archives (which Lisa guided us to) and that was also only a short walk away. (There is a nice museum associated with the State Capitol but we didn't have time to visit.) Lisa's breakfasts were delicious and filling. She is a good cook and is also very conscience of healthy eating and accommodating her guests.

We live about an hour’s drive from Charleston. Our son and daughter’s families, who live far away, gave us the gift of this venue for a family celebration of our 50th Anniversary. We started the evening eating a great dinner at Fazios, where we had courted back in the 1970’s. Then we drove five minutes to the Brass Pineapple, where we were met by Lisa and Greg, who had prepared a delicious after-dinner spread of coffee, tea and treats: everything from pound cake, oatmeal cookies, to healthy no-sugar treats. We used the B&B sitting room to party and watch a video made of our life together. Greg hung a sheet to serve as the screen for viewing our “movie.” The next morning, I was able to appreciate the many lovely touches of this B&B from its excellent home restoration, to the period perfect furnishings and decor, to a lovely garden of hydrangeas and flower pots. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious for the entire group, teenagers to grandparents. Lisa prepared a special low-carb food for me, since I have blood sugar issues. We were happy to spend time visiting with Lisa and Greg, discovering our common interests. Those who stay there, will be glad they did. They are gracious hosts who really go above and beyond to make their guest comfortable and happy. It made for a perfect 50th Anniversary! Thank you Lisa and Greg!

We were privileged to enjoy the company and hospitality of Lisa and Greg when our vehicle broke down as we entered Charleston. During what might have a jarring event of unexpected chaos, they provided a balm of comfort, making us feel at home, catering to special dietary needs and smoothing our situation into an unforgettable stay. We arrived as strangers in an unfamiliar city in a vulnerable position with needing a car repair. We leave feeling that we have made friends and will recommend Charleston as a destination not to be missed. The atmosphere of The Brass Pineapple is an experience all its own and should be on everyone’s list of getaways.

The best thing about the Brass Pineapple is the property. It was built in 1907, and it has been restored to something not far off what it would been like when first constructed. The only downside is the A/C, which was insufficient at night for our room. This was the only quibble for a beautiful, perfectly maintained and very comfortable home. It is also superbly situated, just a few metres from the Capitol. Breakfasts are home-made by Lisa, from ingredients that would cause most Americans metabolic shock; her commitment to organic, healthy produce is commendable as well as delicious. Lisa and her husband are delightful, easy-going people - capable of talking about more than themselves, and generous with insight as well as time. There may be better places to stay in Charleston. I cannot imagine where. For those who haven't the time to look, and for anyone seeking considerably more than a hotel, this is the city's golden apple.

We spent two wonderful nights at the Brass Pineapple Inn and enjoyed every minute of it. The Inn is in a lovely historic part of town and we could easily walk to the Capitol and downtown for dinner. Lisa is a tremendous host. She prepares magnificent, organic breakfasts and had delicious treats waiting for us each afternoon when we returned to the house. Our room was comfy, clean and beautifully decorated. We could not have asked for a greater experience. Very pleased with our stay.
