Motel 6 Charlotte, NC – Airport South

I can’t describe the smell in this hotel!! It’s filthy and it should be against the law that they are able to take your money and tell you your booking is non refundable…. What!!!?? The location is not safe! The room smells like smoke, updated rooms looks nice but I can’t get past the smells. It’s like spraying perfume over funk. There are drug ******* hanging all over this hotel, customer service is very very poor and watch how they leave a reply under this review as if they have taken care of the situations! They should be ashamed of this establishment. They should be locked up for false advertisement and Highway robbery!!!

We didn’t actually spend the night because outside area of the building look so u safe. There a lot of people just questionable people hanging around the building. The driveway facing the front of the building was basically an alley with dumpster for neighboring businesses. Broken down cars in the parking lot, what appeared to be a questionable transaction behind a dumpster, and the general appearance of the building lead us to attempt to cancel our reservation however, the desk clerk and Choice Hotels refused to help out. We left for a different hotel and accepted that the loss of our reservation fee was a lesson learned and worth the feeling of safety.

First time in last 40 years , I witnessed a rude, rough attitude , no care for listening , threatened and finally he refused the room and asked me to leave when I reached 10 pm after driving from Atlanta. The guy claimed himself as a general manager, repeated saying he is the authority and something is really wrong with the person. When I try to check in by showing my ID, he showed that $100 deposit to stay. If it is cash I will get back on the day of leaving the hire if it is CC, it will take 10 days. So I told him that I called the hotel two times and those two times, none told that being cash, Immediately this fellow said ( who claim himself as GM,) he doesn’t want long explanation and want me to say yes or no to pay $100 or not . I thought it must a long day for him and I told him , he can be little more hospitable and try to listen what I want to say. He said no I do not want to listen and immediately he said , “ I refuse room” leave the hotel. In my last 40 years of travel exp , I always respect people and extend my courtesy. If this hotel owner doesn’t see this fellow’s attitude towards the customer ( I am not the first person who faces this low class, irresponsible and ****** kind of an attitude) their hard work of managing the hotel will go for toss. Mostly I stay in Baymont groups and this one is a very horrible experience.
