My husband and I stayed here 2 nights as part of a trip we took from southern Burgundy to Bandol. It's a beautiful property. The rooms were clean, quiet, plenty spacious The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate dinner here one evening, and it was quite delicious. Weather wasn't right for sunbathing, but the pool area is quite pretty, and we enjoyed a glass of wine there. We had a car, but guests should know that this is NOT walking distance to the town, and I'm not sure how easy or practical it would be to get a taxi/uber. (I did not ask if the hotel provides transport.).

We had a fabulous few days at La Sommellerie. The owners were very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was basic but functional. Breakfast is fairly basic but perfectly adequate for us - juices, cereals, yoghurts, boiled aggs, ham & cheese, croissants, pain au chocolate, coffee machine. We loved the outside area with the pool and patio area. Lovely and peaceful and relaxing. The site we booked with listed the hotel as having a wine cave and tasting sessions but there was no evidence of this. The hotel is a little remote and there are very limited taxi options so it's important to have a car. It would be about an hour walk into Chateauneuf du Pape on a fairly bust road.

From the moment we checked in, this was our Birthday Holiday, the exceptional hospitality provided by Silvio and Camille set the tone for a truly remarkable stay. Their warmth and attention to every detail made us feel right at home. The team’s flexibility with languages—including English, French, Italian, and German—ensured that all guests felt welcomed and fully accommodated. The culinary experience at the hotel was nothing short of spectacular. Each morning, we were greeted with a rich breakfast menu that offered a variety of delicious, high-quality options to start our day perfectly. Dinner was a delightful exploration of local flavors, with well-curated dishes that showcased the region’s specialties. Our room was the definition of cozy, offering a comfortable and inviting space to relax after a day of exploration. The charming decor and thoughtful amenities provided a perfect blend of comfort and style, making it hard to leave. The hotel's location in Chateauneuf du Pape is an oenophile's dream, with easy access to some of the most renowned wine cellars in the region. Furthermore, the hotel served as an ideal base for discovering the treasures of Provence. We visited Avignon, L’isle sur la Sorgue, Orange, Arles, Le Baux de Provence, Camargue, and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer as they were all within a short driving distance, making it convenient to explore the rich culture and history of this beautiful area. For anyone considering a trip to Provence, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Staying for more than four nights not only allows for a deep dive into the local wine culture but also provides ample opportunity to explore the surrounding areas. This experience was the best of Provencal hospitality and charm!

I love everything about this charming hotel and restaurant. The staff is very helpful and friendly, our room is spacious and the grounds are beautiful. I asked where I could take a walk and was told there is a bike trail across the street near the Rhône! Had I known that I would have arranged to rent a bike. The food in the restaurant was delightful. Creative, gourmet and use of fresh local products including asparagus, peas and strawberries. Beautifully presented as well.

In total the place itself is not so bad. Rooms are ok. Breakfast is good. The only thing that really turns you off is the unfriendliness of the owner. You can already read about it in other reviews. He should be a host and make the guests feel welcome. Apparently he doesn't understand gastronomy. Or he simply has no desire for his profession or for people. We have been at this place several times. It’s always the same. We were invited. That’s why we came back. Privately I would never book this place.

Excellent facilities, very helpful and congenial hosts, great food and wine. Lovely pool. Real value for money. Great location for visiting Châteauneuf-du-Pape or the right bank (Lirac, etc.). We will definitely go back. Do not hesitate to select this property!

Our third time at this sweet place was indeed a charm. We had a lovely dinner on the terrace, slept in a king-sized bed with the window open to the night breeze, a perfect cup of coffee with a pain au chocolate in the morning, and a delightful glass of champagne while listening to children playing in the pool. The large garden and terrace with pool is perfect for relaxing after a day of sights, wine tasting, or cycling. The bar has anything you could want and the restaurant highlights local produce and products. The refurbished rooms are modern, quite large for a French hotel room, and simply and comfortably appointed. We will return.

Very nice little hotel with very welcoming owners. The garden, with the pool, is beautiful and a great setting for the excellent buffet breakfast. Unfortunately we were staying on a Sunday night so the restaurant was closed - warning - there are very few places open in Chateauneuf du Pape on a Sunday night (at least the Sunday we were there). However the menu looked very nice (and reasonable). We had a room overlooking the road and, although it was quiet despite the high speed traffic outside, it’s probably worth paying more for a garden view. Would highly recommend for a stop on way south.
