Warm welcome, many documents on things to do and see in Cherbourg and the Cotentin. Spacious room (only in a triple room) and well soundproofed. Toilet in the bathroom. Very practical when you are in the city center: the hotel has its own parking lot with charging point for electric cars.

Hello, On 09/18/2023 we spent a night at the LE LOUVRE hotel in Cherbourg. We went to reception where we were offered a double comfort room. We were asked for the usual information to fill out the hotel form. We gave our postal address, email address and telephone number. We were asked for a credit card imprint. Our double comfort room was classic and clean. On the other hand, there was a lot of noise from the party-goers who go to the nightclub almost opposite the hotel. We had a decent breakfast and paid our bill. Three days later, a €45 charge was made on our account without notifying us. We find this practice a bit cavalier. By phone we ask for an explanation. A mistake was made, the billing corresponded to another person. This can happen. But the same room was billed €58 and for us €77??? Explanation: the person had booked through Booking and that is why the price is lower. Surprise!!! The hotel has fees to pay to this central office. We are not discussing the mistake made, but the way in which our account was withdrawn without warning. So BE CAREFUL do not leave a credit card imprint in this establishment, you risk having surprise withdrawals.

We took 2 rooms at the same price, but not at all the same services. Only 2 people out of 4 slept well. The difference is the acoustics!!! In any case, it was impossible to sleep: excessive heat in the room but no air conditioning, very busy streets (bars, nightclubs, kebab shops) and therefore very noisy, even with the window closed and to top it all off, the pipes from the floors above gave the impression of falling into the room: Niagara Falls from 7:00 in the morning. The second room at the same price had a second exterior window to reduce the noise from the street, air conditioning and the renovation of the room had taken into account the acoustics of the pipes. In short, if you can't sleep, even a little, don't go to this hotel or you might be lucky enough to find the right room.
