Popular Chiang Mai 4-star Hotels

Snugged in a corner of a residential area is this gorgeous hotel that matches its name - White. Two 4 storey buildings and an open pool area make up this comfortable hotel with big huge rooms! Don't expect too much variety for your breakfast but it is sufficient! The location of the hotel is relatively near to (within 10 mins walk): 1) Chiang Mai Gate Market, 2) Anusarn Market, 3) Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, and 4) Wau Lai Walking Street by the river of Mae Kha Canal. You'll have to take time and walk around this area. If you stay around here for more than 3 days, you will find that this area has many little shops and restaurants littered all around that serves fabulous food at very affordable prices! Large room and requested room provided on a high floor. Beautiful views, rooftop swimming pool and large, comfortable lobby area. Buffet breakfast was not suitable for vegetarian but they make a pretty good coffee in the cafe. All staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. In front of the hotel is a convenience store and massage, so make sure to have cash. I can't personally vouch for the massage as I had elsewhere, but worth a look as it's right in front of the hotel.

We had a superb stay. The hotel exceeded our expectations with the price we paid. Food, bed, shower, internet and staff service were all excellent. Location is perfect for tourists like us. The Thapae Gate is a few minutes away and other shops. We had a beautiful view of the canal. The hotel was beautiful .

This hotel is becoming dated and requires a little loving, but in it's day it would have been an amazing place to stay. The rooms are large and comfortable. Our room had a nice view of the hills around Chiang Mai. The rooms, although dated, are clean and reasonably well set out. The beds and pillow towels are serviced daily. Room service is available. Breakfast had a good range of dishes, a d I loved you could order your eggs your way, scrambled, or an omelette or sunny side up, but fresh. It's a very busy hotel, and the reason the staff are not able to give the best service. The pool and gym are excellent, but it would be of benefit to the fact that hotel guests didn't have to venture down to reception to get a voucher to go to the gym first. A short walk to coffee shops, and cafes and short drives to three major shopping centres. Still an enjoyable stay at an old majestic beauty.

Cons: • The hotel housekeeping staff did not clean thoroughly, especially the bathroom drain, which was clogged with hair. • Towels were not changed regularly. • The hotel’s TV is outdated and has a delayed response. • The hotel’s internet connection is poor. Pros: • The hotel has a great location. There is a bar downstairs, a supermarket, and street food nearby. • Maya Shopping Mall is just a 10-minute drive away.

Upon appearance this hotel looks rather elegant and really quite charming and in a great location, close to local markets and bars and a good base for tours. The lobby is gorgeous and the lady checking us in was very informative and polite. The room we were given on the 18th floor. (1826) was huge and although dated was still very nice and with a great view of the city. The pool area is lovely too, but as you can imagine the bar prices were expensive. The good ended there. The lifts take far too long to come down. There is an express lift but is no faster. The wifi is very hit and miss. The beds were awful and were sleeping on concrete blocks. Had the worst night’s sleep for the 1st of 2 nights. 2nd night we actually slept quite well but mainly due to being so tired from the night before. The shower is nothing but a trickle, and there is a ledge on the floor in the doorway when entering the bathroom which is very easy to trip over, maybe get some yellow tape on it. Breakfast was mainly catered for asians, not many western options at all, and what was there was grim, we had breakfast included but didn’t bother the next day. Over all it is good value for money and if they were to change the mattress I would stay again but the beds were just truly abysmal.

Everything is great. Pool, gym and room. The only issue that I had is that it is a bit noisy at nights. You can hear corridor or exterior noises easily.

The hotel staff are super polite,friendly and very helpful.My room was upgraded upon my arrival ,a lovely suprise.Breakfast is really good value for money.Rooms are beautifully serviced and fresh towels provided daily.I would recommend for solo female travellers as very secure and transport safe and easy to use to and from the hotel.All tours easily arranged by staff and they have a shuttle service to all night markets and food streets.Excellent all round. Would definitely recommend .

The rooms are very basic, almost spartan. Compared to the size of the bedroom, the bathroom was rather small. On the first day, free wifi was unavailable in the room, only working in the lobby. After the second day, it was working properly. The breakfast was mediocre. The first two days all the items were cold. After that, I decided not to take breakfast in the hotel anymore. The options at lunch were very limited. The staff at the reception is very helpful and very friendly and speaks very decent English. In the restaurant, however, knowledge of English is very poor. The location is convenient, although a bit out of town. You need a tuktuk or a red truck to go to the nightmarket or to town. There is a laundry pick-up service nearby. After all, a very basic hotel with value for money.

Location is great. I checked in very late, after midnight and they still have receptionist to serve my check in. Very quick and easy, no need deposit. I stayed here before, but this time when I entered the room it was quite smelly, perhaps from the toilet side. It has all the amenities you need for the stay. Because it’s location at Ninman, do expect heavy traffic jam getting to there hotel and out from hotel.
