"Excellent staff and a decent room with a good shower. Unfortunately the room had a thick metal grill surrounding the tiny balcony which made it feel like a cage. Add the shrubs and bushes and it blocks out most natural light. The swimming pool was not that clean with numerous dead leaves and pigeon feathers although the area around it was very nice with good sun loungers. Breakfast was good and the staff kept it clean and tidy. Had toast and good tea but otherwise Thai and Asian menu. But I enjoyed it. The closing time of 9.45am is too early, especially as they start clearing away even earlier."

"Clean and spacious rooms, staff were friendly and efficient, good price, breakfast was good. On the downside due to renovations new tiles are on the room floor. This resulted in noise from other rooms and corridors and people dragging chairs above. We also had a power cut at 4 am which resulted in us not being able to shower before leaving at 9:30am. We were refunded 200 baht for this inconvenience? However, the good outweighed the “ not so good” and maintenance problems can happen in any hotel. I would try this place again"

"Had a very relaxing stay at Meridien Chiang Rai .
Would recommend it and come back again.
Service is very attentive. Gave a small present to my daughter on arrival + toiletries for kids.
I took option with dinner included.
It was at the Italian restaurant. Food and service ate good but should give more options to be chosen from the menu when you are staying several nights.
In general very good experience!"

"This hotel worth every pennies of it. The restaurant surprised us with so many choices for breakfast, and good decor too. And the little garden is cute to hang around. Just the pool water is too cold during January month, hope they can have a warm pool in the future."

NNeil H.Think of this hotel, I will think of its location first. As it is located in the heart of Chiang rai City. So convenient for everything. Just cross the road, I can explore a very beautiful northern style temple . Nice local market is just 3 blocks away. Several famous old restaurants in a walking distance too. The hotel itself is nice and clean. Breakfast that I almost skip to get good food outside is good. It was not a buffet though. I got a small menu to choose when checking in.

However, the receptionist and restaurant staff could improve their friendliness and customer service. It seemed they lacked the patience to provide directions or assistance when needed. Despite this drawback, the overall stay was enjoyable, thanks to the convenient location and comfortable accommodations.

AArceThe Riva Vista hotel was beautiful designed property, we loved it all, the service was friendly, the breakfast buffet and the dinner menu were great, very delicious food, attentive service, on a wonderful setting it is just few steps from the Blue Temple, that makes it convenient, but far from downtown.

GGuest UserIt's a quiet and secluded hotel that's a good place to rest comfortably, even though it's far from the city.
If you're looking for a quiet place, it's probably fine.
I stayed in the villa building and it's spacious. The bathroom has an instant water heater, but only lukewarm water comes out, so it was a little uncomfortable to shower.
And a simple breakfast is provided.

“Listen, the breakfast is crap. We got there somewhere around 8.30, 9. There was practically nothing there. And they didn't change anything. And the breakfast wasn't like the pictures. In short, yeah, it's a regular piece of crap. And you asked for a room next to the elevator, but they gave us one at the very end of the corridor, the very last room. You had to slog to get there for a million years.”
“And it stank of some kind, but the room itself seemed okay. Old, but that's it, pretty nice, not terrible. And the bed was soft.”

A ten-minute walk gets you to a number of popular riverside restaurants. A good choice if you like peaceful surroundings and less than 15 minutes by cab to the airport.

Le cadre de l’hôtel est excellent et l’attitude du personnel est très agréable. Pour toute personne ne connaissant pas la langue thaï, le personnel de l’hôtel vous aidera. Le petit déjeuner était délicieux. La piscine est propre. L’hôtel est idéal pour les vacances, les voyageurs d’affaires et ceux qui veulent un endroit calme et relaxant. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel.

WWWF_WWEStayed here for a few nights.. was my first time in Chiang Rai. I have nothing negative to say, the room was a good size for one person, clean, fully stocked with towels, shower gel, shampoo, bottles of water, etc.and cleaned everyday. When I came back from a days out it was nice and fresh. The shower handle needs to be in a certain direction in order for the hot water to work - (if it's pointed towards you, more pressure = less hot). Location-wise, it was only a few mins from the night bazaar which is very convenient. Many nice temples nearby via walking. Also the clock tower, cat cafe, Watsons, bus station, Boots, restaurants, etc.all walkable - 5mins tops. I recommend staying here.. if you want to go further away to see white and blue temple you can hire a bike rider for just a few Bhat.The big Central Chiang Rai shopping mall is not that far, you can also walk it!
I walked about 2 hours from the hotel to see the giant Buddha statue, along the way I saw many cool stuff. I really do recommend you walk around and check out the scenery rather than taking transport, you will find hidden gems along the way. A+
