Great hotel, close to the train station. The hotel room is a great accommodation for the price paid and the staff is very nice, they are willing to go out of their league to provide a great service. Is also close to the beach and to the main plaza in Chiavari. All within walking distance.

The worst experience I’ve ever had! Bugs in the room, very very small room and the bathroom is outside the room. We have paid 200€/one night. Dont’t have anything but anything in the room. Without mosquito nets …..

Every service ( safe parking, pet in room, colazione)was an extra charge to an already high rate ,room was not clean and not at all worth the 209euro a night we paid. The shower - look at photo . Aircon worked at least. Place needs a major overhaul room wise .

We stayed 2 nights in Chiavari at the Hotel Santa Maria from 1 to 3 January 2024. Our stay was excellent, the hotel is in a good position, facing the sea and still close to the center of Chiavari, a very beautiful town, well maintained, with 5 km of arcades and a succession of shops and places where you can eat the many Ligurian delicacies. The hotel has its years but little by little they are renovating everything, it's a shame at the moment they haven't yet been able to find someone who can manage the internal restaurant because the spaces are there and thus they would complete the services to be given to customers. The internal bar where breakfast is served is very cute, with a nice TV always on and a bright window looking out. We also brought our little dog Bianca and there was no problem, in fact the hotel staff, who were always very kind, often complimented us on our second little girl. As we said, everyone was very kind but a particular note of merit goes to Charly and Giusy, congratulations for your kindness and your smiles, thanks to you we appreciated this little holiday of ours even more. I had a great time, modern room and large, very kind staff, excellent breakfast, located in a good position facing the sea and a few steps from the center of Chiavari... I recommend it and then nearby there are Rapallo Lavagna and Sestri Levante

The hotel is dated, rooms with carpet that lacks air. Price too high for the structure it is, you can find better things in the area for €20/30 less. Decent breakfast. In the morning we encountered a water leak from the upstairs bathroom dripping over our heads! Experience to forget.
