We have now gone twice staying in deluxe and then loft cabins. My kids adore this place. Nice small waterpark and just over the bridge from the ocean. Jump pillow, small pool, toddler playgrounds and a nice swing area. Beach town that is walkable from the resort. The loft cabin- the loft is carpeted and wasn't clean- dead bugs and crumbs when we arrived. You need to bring basics like paper towels, beach towels and while they give linens, ours was clean but scratchy and stained. I'd bring your own skillet and water pot, very small ones in the cabin. Coffee pot takes round flat bottom filters. Good fridge and oven and microwave in the cabin. The screened in porch was great. Nice staff. We will go again. Deluxe cabin was great minus lack of space for suitcases. It's a beach vibe campground and great for kids from 2-15ish. No issues with bugs at cabins but bug spray for jump pillow and playground is needed. Loft cabin has storage under the stairs. Great store to walk to that has snacks and drinks (Atlantic Shoals).

Will be spending lodging $$ elsewhere in the future. I have been staying on this island in various accommodations for more than a decade. This campground is expensive and NOT worth it. $120 a night gets you a safari tent with a completely filthy floor and broken door zipper. Basically we’re sleeping with a door wide open because the zipper keeps breaking and now it’s after hours. 3 out of the 5 hand soap containers in the women’s bathroom are broken or empty and the camp sink to wash dishes is filthy. Website images show coffee makers in units but they don’t exist. Not impressed and won’t be returning.

Grungy cabins, horrible service, inadequate supplies, and no wifi. The cabins are expensive and should be well cleaned and well stocked. There was no soap. There were not enough dishes, or towels. This place never answers their phone and when you go to the office to ask for the missing items, you have to wait until the next day because nobody is working. The ceiling fans has a years worth of dust on it. There is no wifi, which also means there is no TV. Staff can't or won't help and they don't seem to care about anything; they give lame excuses about the wifi being "busy", but it isn't even available. The location is nice, but I will probably find someplace different next time we visit Chincoteague.

Sun Outdoors, please do better with this long loved campground. We were there for a week. The site was great, Waterpark fun. The bathhouse was absolutely unsanitary and filthy. Gobs of hair in the showers for days. Feces spread on the bathroom wall. 3 days of maybe there will be toilet paper. What was interesting is a moldy shower curtain was changed but nothing else was touched. We stay in Chincoteague twice a year, your new park is fantastic. Hopefully you can do the same with this one.

We have been to every Yogi in VA. We chose to pay $120 for this place instead of $70 Tom's Cove on the Island because of its location and inclusion of the Waterpark, figured that was worth the price. We arrived at 7:30 pm and the Office was closed and nobody at the entrance. We had to find our own campsite. The electrical box had only a 50amp socket which did not fit my 30amp. An the box had missing openings for other sockets and breakers. With nobody to help we just moved forward to another site that had a complete electrical box and figured we would work it out in the morning. Womens bathroom was totally closed and wife and daughter had to figure out by asking other campers that they had to walk to the one by the main office. The next day they did not open the Waterpark and the following day all the slides were closed. Had no activities except for a tattoo party and never saw Yogi. I did complain about the waterpark and activities and asked for maybe a discount code to come back. When I complained about having to pay a "resort fee"...they refunded me $17. On the last day when we checked out I asked if we could use the now open waterpark and asked if they had any "overflow parking"...I asked the Office if it would be OK the leave our camper "there" (on a Thursday) figuring the camp was pretty empty. When we got home we saw an additional and unauthorized charge for $110 from Yogi. Can never get anyone on the phone and never would answer texts they sent telling use they were going to charge us. Apparently there was a misunderstanding where I though I could leave the camper and Office thought I meant in the "overflow". Anyway would never go back. Stay at Toms Cove or Pine Grove and save yourself a ton of money and headaches.

This campground is coasting on past reviews. It was subpar at best and way over priced. Their main attraction is Maui Jacks waterpark which is included for the duration of your stay. All of the big slides were closed down. The park pool was also closed. You can tell since sunresort took over the maintenance of the grounds has been severely lacking. The fire rings were fill with trash and coal from the last campers and the sites were full of pine needles, which I get you're camping but they still could have been raked up. People that weren't staying or paid to stay were able to easily get into the park as witnessed to them crossing over the fencing. There is no one checking at the gate to make sure its actually paying guests. So naturally it was over crowded. For an expensive camping trip I was really underwhelmed.

I grew up camping at Maddox campground in Chincoteague prior to Jellystone taking over so trust me when I say I want this campground to succeed with every nostalgic fiber in my being. But after staying here in August I’m having my doubts. Here are the pros: the location is amazing! You’re so close to the wildlife refuge that you can leisurely ride your bike. The campground’s view is gorgeous, overlooking an expanse of marshland to the lighthouse. The fun that the kids have in the campground is priceless; bike rides, arcade games, friendly staff, a super fun air pillow in the playground, a water park next door….its a dream! Now the Cons; the cabins are dirty. Old couches with peeling pleather, ants in the kitchen, a porch in desperate need of a cleaning, uncomfortable foam mats for mattresses, and the worst wifi I have ever experienced on a trip. I only gave this place an extra star because I love it so much from my childhood. Will i stay here again? I’m really torn

The cabin we stayed in was like a tiny house with an open living, dining, full kitchen, bath and two bedrooms - one without a door. The park is in a good location. We rented a golf cart from a business outside of the park, so we were able to visit the island attractions and restaurants easily; I don't think the Jellystone golf carts are allowed to leave the park. There seems to be a lot for children to do with a playground, water park, and art crafts. The not so good part is the cabin we stayed in was dirty. We arrived at 3:00 check-in time and waited over an hour for cleaning staff to finish. Then we found trash on the porch from previous visitors and the interior baseboards, window sills, bathroom, etc. were not clean. There were ant bait traps in the cabin, but it was still ant infested. They provide RV bath tissue, and linens for you to make your own beds. We requested extras towles and housekeeping kindly delivered on time. A dumpster is on site for trash or there is trash pickup by the friendly maintaince crew in the morning. The porch is a nice place to sit, but could be better if power washed. On the last day of our stay, we lost water pressure for showering. I would consider staying again, if they upped their game on cleanliness and hope this review helps them improve that.

We have been coming to this campground for many years. It was bought by Jellystone Campgrounds a year or so ago and it’s like they have completely let it go. On our most recent visit this July one entire bathhouse was out of order for our entire stay. Another one only had 2 stalls working and they were all disgusting and filthy. Sadly I’m not sure we will be back. There were no activities for kids at all during the week. NONE. I find this odd at the absolute height of summer season. The camp store has almost zero food. I was shocked that there was shelf after shelf that was empty. I get that food sells out but should they have a better grasp of inventory control after all these years? Not a fatal flaw but on top of everything else it was annoying. After coming for 8 out of the last 10 years we will find somewhere else to go on our annual trip to Chincoteague. We are sad to see what has become of this beloved campground
