Friendly welcome...reasonable price....very aging establishment including mattresses, sleep in the center to avoid falling...old bathroom....clean sheets...house of character in the heart of Chinon at the price of an ibis budget...the room deserves its price 69euro no more no less..

So already if you want to come there in the heat, remember to take a fan or simply don't go.. I arrive at the reception. I had to enter the name of my company 3 times to be found. Top floor without elevator and under the roof. I ask for at least a fan, nothing. I had to stay 2 nights out of professional obligation. The second night I absolutely had to look for a fan. Plus having to sleep with the window open, but with the noise downstairs impossible. Shower should not be big, bed average. Avoid if you want calm and sleep well.

For travelers who are afraid of nothing. Cleanliness and hygiene leave something to be desired. The manager is funny and welcoming but when we pointed out how dirty the place was, he flooded our phone with insulting text messages. I took photos for booking, with whom we had made the reservation but he declared "no show of customers" to cancel the reservation. In addition to the dirt, the stairs are quite dangerous, the timer is short and you find yourself in the dark between two floors, the buttons are difficult to find. The prices seem to be at the customer's discretion: displayed 42 to XX on *********** he reproached us for having ourselves announced a different price to him then he asked us for €57 (if I was not clear in this message, it is also unclear in the manager's figures). The photos I sent to Booking have disappeared. They showed close-ups of traces of toothpaste or soap on the bathroom shelf, hairs in the shower, stains on the towels as if someone had wiped grease off their face. A good thickness of dirt and cobwebs on the shutter trays. In short, unless you are an adventurer and are used to sleeping in high mountain lodges, I do not recommend this hotel.

Small hotel in two buildings, large free parking opposite (except market days). Very clean rooms but very poorly soundproofed. Good restaurant. Breakfast with a relatively small buffet. Welcoming staff. Suitable for one step

Only deserves 2 stars (we paid €85/night). No elevator, no mixer tap in our bathroom, scalding water, bedding to be revised. Smell of cold tobacco. Very poorly soundproofed rooms: in addition to the neighbors' conversations, we benefited from the lovely sound of the showers at the end of the evening and the toilets that the hosts flushed throughout the night! Breakfast: a disaster! 1st morning: arrival at 9 a.m. Entrance door cluttered with people stuck between the coffee machine and the buffet table, space 1.50m wide (it would have been enough to turn this table and put it against the back wall). Coffee machine that remains broken for 1 hour, despite customer requests. Towels and bread distributed in dribs and drabs, because they had to cook some, so no fresh bread! In fact, something was still missing. The person in charge of the meal told us that it wasn't his fault that everyone arrived at the same time! 2nd morning: arrival at 8 a.m.: nothing was missing, still happy! Being forced to get up early when it's the weekend... After a night spent in this lousy place, I read the comments: many customers have suffered the same inconveniences for 2 years. Obviously, management has still not taken this into account...
