Bed bugs.. beware!! Not 4 star 2 at best Arrived on time around 3pm, tried to charge us £30 for a bed until the receptionist wavered it. Attended room, smelly , stuffy, old and in need of improvements. Bed immediately made you want to itch. Went out for few hours and seen lovely hotels local for cheaper. Felt disappointed with what we had booked. Arrived back at hotel at 7pm and felt uneasy staying at the hotel. Handed keys back in and left. Requested a partial refund as we wouldnt be staying and having breakfast. Refused. Avoid, the hotel is a scam

A birthday celebration which ticked all the boxes! The menu included something for everyone, the location is superb, the restaurant ambience was just what we love, beautiful views, excellent service and amazing food!! My husband couldn’t have chosen anywhere better, just what we needed. So lovely to find somewhere that doesn’t have to pretend to be something it’s not because it really is something! Don’t ever change! Thanks

We have just returned from staying at Gibbon Bridge Hotel for out friends wedding. The Hotel is really lovely and the grounds are spectacular. The food at the wedding breakfast was very good, the only complaint that there was only one roast potatoe - but after the men on our table asked for more they were promptly brought to us - we found the staff to be professional, but not stuffy - they were very attentive and certainly kept our glasses topped up. Our room was lovely, huge bed and lovely views over the gardens(room 2) and very clean. We had the pleasure of meeting Janet, the owner, during breakfast and found her to be a fascinating lady - learning about the history of the Hotel added to our experience - Janet even brought more sausages for my Husband as he was so obviously enjoying them so much! Made me wish I could get married again and take advantage of this beautiful venue.

Built in the 80s and still in the 80s. Rooms are an odd mix of tired with modern baths and updated with old baths. Etc. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is great. Dinner was underwhelming, and a massive dining room with zero atmosphere - great for events, not for regular guests - suggest The Sun Inn in Chipping if you stay here. No sign of a spa. Cooked breakfasts were very good. Cold selection needs a fix... stale granola etc, processed juices etc. Coffee is a disaster - fix the coffee, it's not that hard. Real coffee is an absolute basic. Fridges in room and real coffee in room would be a basic ask too. Prison-style toilet in the bar is just weird.

visited with some friends who highly recommended this place bit torn with regards to this review the hotel itself is in a very nice location staff are great very professional grounds and hotel is great for a party/wedding /celebration we were just having a meal which is 27.50 for 2 courses or£35 for 3 courses we had a combination of the flan to start with flowed by the sous vide chicken ,the duck and the fish and chips then the apple and blackberry pie and the sticky toffee pudding the meals were all very good (sticky pudding sauce far to sweet) we realise the meals are all cooked fresh to order and the sweets are homemade but we still felt the menu was a bit limited and pricy for what it was

Been several times but our last visit wasn’t the same , the place is going downhill, staff attire scruffy looking , rolled up shirt sleeves , no ties like they used to , shirts un ironed. Night porter very rude , asked him for another drink at the bar at 10.50pm told he wasn’t going to serve us as we had enough ! We wasn’t drunk ! We wasn’t loud or being a nuisance, this is unacceptable. And this has made me want to not return again . Used to love staying but unfortunately I can honestly say I feel I don’t want to return due the fact this place is no longer how it used to be , it’s like the staff etc have no care for the place anymore

We celebrated our mother's90th birthday with a lunch party for 72 people in the conservatory. The room was warm and tastefully decorated. The roast beef dinner and assiette of desserts were perfect. Edward and the team went over and above to make it a very enjoyable afternoon. Would highly recommend.

From 17/02/2025 to 21/02/2025 The Staff were first rate and could not do enough for us. The Accommodation was also first rate. The Food both Breakfast and Dinner was excellent. Overall I would rate this hotel as one of the best I have had the pleasure to stay at.
