The room was very quiet, the airport and the hotel's previous connection service was too convenient, the 9th door called the hotel, basically 5 minutes to the car! When you arrive at the airport, you will arrive at the front desk ten minutes in advance, which is very convenient and transfer the gospel.

I expect more from this chain of hotels! It’s the worst hotel we have stayed in especially in Christchurch. 3 Nights in an Executive Room on the 10th floor at a price of $800 + not even including breakfast! I really wished I’d stayed where we normally stay at the Novotel opposite which was $719 for 3 nights including breakfast!! So, what was wrong with this place, well here goes; 1) Restaurant open till 9pm but they switch the coffee machine off at 8.20pm!!!! 2) Caffeittere in the room but no coffee bag to put in it twice in a row missed off. Reception do not have access to these bags so none available. 3) The bed has numerous colourful pillows on which matched the bed spread we took off on the first night and folded it up and left on the floor it remained there for 3 days!!!! 4) The bed was not made at all! All they did was pull the duvet over and straighten the pillows. When you pull the covers off the bottom sheet had not been straightened at all! 4/5 star hotel apparently with 2 star service! Never again will we stay here !

The hotel is nice, the waiters are friendly, the rooms are big, and the balcony is nice. There is a bar below the hotel, and there are occasional performances during dinner time, which is very atmospheric, but it is very quiet after 9pm during the break.

We stayed the night after a long day driving. We wanted a good location as only staying overnight. We were warmly welcomed at reception. After settling in and freshen up - great bathroom and ammenities. We took a quick $7 uber to New Regent St (as raining) It was only a 10 min walk home. Slept well in our upgraded (premium) room. Enjoyed a morning walk in Botanical Gardens. Inclusive or parking made it easy for us to access our car for trip to airport the following morning. Definitely stay again

From the moment we opened the door it reflected warmth and inviting relaxation. The decor was fabulous throughout the complex and the reception area had the feel of a village. The hospitality staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Very deserving of a positive review.

It's my last stop before I fly back home for good after a 2 weeks holiday in NZ. It's a total disaster experience as the lady restaurant manager (working on 23 May 2023, 9pm), was plain rude when I approached her politely wanting to ask her whether the restaurant was still operating since it was late already. She was then holding a tray of empty cups, gave me a stare, and whispered an insincere 'sorry' with a frustrated facial and dashed right past me. Mind you, there was only 1 table of 2 guests in the entire restaurant. Not wanting to spoil our mood further, I have decided to walk away calmly, be the bigger self, and head to the bar instead. Honestly, it was totally not the busiest day since it's a Tuesday evening, the bartender was so impatient in trying to wait for us to make our orders (we are only ordering 2 drinks my dear), he wasn't helpful in trying to provide alternative (since one of the drinks we wanted is OOS) or wait for JUST another minute for us to look through the short food menu quickly to decide what food we wanted to add on to our order. He quickly decided to push us to the restaurant if we wanted food. Hello? If we were ordering drinks at the bar, why would we want to order bar food to eat at the restaurant? Perhaps we aren't looking too groomed to garner his prestigious service that's why he was pushing us away? My goodness... this is the worst ever experience I had in my entire stay here. Every other accommodation service staff we have met was friendly, polite, and treats us with loving respect. I honestly do not expect a reputable hotel to have such horrible service.

Lovely suite with WELL equipped kitchenette - may be best ever. No fuss about adding a last-minute roll-away bed for our adult son who unexpectedly accompanied us -- just a reasonable add-on charge. Building itself is charming, with enormous windows, right in the heart of town

DATE OF TRAVEL: July 2023 Stayed here for 10 days on a business trip. Room and bathroom was great but the beds are awful. They are not attached to a bed head and are an ensemble base only so they move around. I had a better sleep in a motel in Timaru, which is a shame because working 10 hour days, staying in a 5* hotel, one would think you'd sleep like a baby. Fortunately the shower's high pressure and the bath were great, Apart from that, the hotel grounds is beautiful with ample parking. My room had a veranda which I liked to sit on and watch the traffic go by. I had requested a microwave so as to meal prep due to my diabetes and this was in there prior to check in which was great. Hotel is just around the corner from a heap of restaurants and Westfield Ricccarton and right next to Hagley Park which was great for a morning walk. In room dining was fine, nothing special. I tried the breakfast buffet in the restaurant on the Saturday and it was lacklastre. Didn't end up going back. Plenty of cafes around anyway. All up, I rate my stay there 4*. The facilities were great, the requests were met eagerly and the bathroom was fantastic. The room itself is really well appointed but the bed is awful which detracts a star. I'd stay there again with my wife though, maybe bring some *****s to attach to the bed legs to stop them from moving around though!

I stayed at this hotel again principally because it is an Accor property in the CBD (as I am an ALL Platinum) - but that is really about it. The hotel is passable for what one expects of a Novotel, but it is getting quite dated and the carpet stains in the room are too pointed a reminder of the hotel's age. The bed is soft and the generous number of pillows and cushions make for a very comfy night in. While it is in the CBD, it is a fair walk from most places of note in the city. Since my previous visit, the reception staff have improved in service and manner. I was disappointed that as I left a shirt in my room's cupboard, I had to call a few times to follow up on its search as the promised return call did not come until I called again (the shirt was never found). What is most disappointing is the restaurant. While the quality of the food is acceptable, it is quite overpriced for Christchurch and the restaurant's setting. Despite only having a handful of tables for dinner, I had to approach the wait staff when I wanted a table, to order, get a drink, or receive the check. Similarly, the bar staff are not as proactive as one may expect to come to tables and take drink orders, even when one is the only patron at the bar. My biggest complaint is the breakfast. On one of the mornings I even had to set my own table. Empty juice dispensers are not refilled for quite some time; the only eggs served are scrambled, the only non-meat ”hot” offering are potatoes and beans. Perhaps there is is a concern that some patrons are allergic to tomatoes, green leaves, salad, vegetables, and mushrooms? After two nights I moved to another hotel in Christchurch and am much happier.
