Beautiful facility. Modern rooms and spacious, clean lobby in a building from the beginning of the last century. The facade reminds you that you are in a Cuban village founded by French settlers. The staff i s young, professional and fun . the food is not that abundant but very well prepared. . the buffet breakfast , tropical fruit juice s, delicious It's an ideal for one night.

I loved the food. It was amazing. Also along side the food was the awesome music that really catched my attention at nights on the balcony. The live music of Mr. Juan Carlos and his orchestra made me have good nights at hotel Union. One of his songs that I love is Volare which is originally by Gypsy Kings but Mr. Juan Carlos sings it even better than Gypsy Kings. Listening to his live music along with beer and salty peanuts brought me alot of joy after nice dinner at the hotel on those lovely nights.

Ther wos a cuban show with artists playig music on the upper terrace of this hotel where there is a bar and fantastic views. Very good music and the bartender Rene is tremendously professional his specialty is mohitos. We go up the stairs t o th e upper floor. The security at the main door was very attentive a nd very friendly. This is another place in Ciefuegos that everybody should visit sometimes !

Poor breakfast! I am not expecting anything exotic for the place! But local fruits and fruit juices please! Non existant in the 3 Melia hotels I experienced in Cuba during my trip.

I visited the Hotel La Union that night by chance, I was passing through the city and some friends invited me to have some cocktails on the terrace of the Hotel. To my surprise I found some of the best music. There I even took a sals class. Cuban all night dancing. I recommend this place, it was incredible, I had a great time.

We stayed at the San Carlos hotel but used the Pool, Roof Terrace and facilities at La Union as it has a lot more character and soul than the San Carlos. We both had a great massage from Daniel who was absolutely brilliant. His English was significantly better than a lot of the other staff and he was very helpful. We saw him at both hotels and he helped lots of guests and was a real star! The pool at La Union is clearly a little dated but a great spot for relaxing and awesome cocktails
