We arrived in Dogubeyazit at 10 pm on 18/4 by bus from Mardin. We had contacted the hotel by SMS because our email with an Italian account was not working. The otogar is 2 minutes away from the hotel (you just have to cross the road), the places to eat and spend some time sipping a Turkish coffee or an excellent Cay are also a two minute walk away. The palace of Isak Pasha is 6 km away, there is a dolmus that takes you there, but unfortunately, when we were there the departures were not very regular as there were no tourists......no big deal, we set off on foot and shortly after a car or a van stopped to give us a lift. The local people are wonderfully friendly, curious, and available to give you a hand always without ulterior motives. The hotel rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast good (cay or coffee, cheese, tomato, cucumber, olives, typical bread of the Turkey), the staff (mostly young people who will help you understand the possibilities of the area) welcoming and helpful Dogubeyzit is a border town, at the foot of Mount Ararat (Çiyayê Agirî) with a strong military presence that does not interfere too much; some gendarmerie checks during travel and nothing more (be careful it is not as easy, as for us tourists, for citizens of Kurdish origin). Go to the North East of Turkey a fascinating world.
