Best Mile End Hotels

Booked the mile end to stay over for 1 night after travelling from Manchester as a way to recover before a weekend in Sydney. The room is very nice, bed is comfy, cannot fault anything. The staff are top level customer service, all friendly, welcoming and have a sense of humour. Food was awesome, both ordered the wagyu burger followed by desserts.

This would be one of the best motels we have stayed at. It was very quiet day and night, no traffic noise even though it is on a main road. The manager and staff were absolutely amazing. We have never experienced such wonderful room service. Room was very spacious and comfortable and cleaned every day and clean towels. They even washed up our coffee cups every day. The manager was great, making sure we got to the Adelaide Bus Center in time to go on our Murray River cruise. We cannot speak highly enough of the manager and the facility. The hotel was pleasant, clean, and easy to get to. The location is close to many destinations in and around Adelaide, including the airport and a reasonable shopping centre with cafes and major retailers within a 1.5km walk. There was plenty of parking in good sized spaces. I booked a basic, single room and got exactly what I expected. It was basic but clean and had a fridge, kettle, and single bed. There was a small armchair but no table although the kettle/fridge cupboard had a pull out tray which I could have used but this was a little dirty so I just sat on the bed to eat. They have a bistro which looked good (25% discount for house guests with dine in or delivery to your room) and offered regular pub menu options but I ended up walking a couple hundred metres down the road to the local takeaway shops for some Thai takeaway. The only complaints I really have are regarding noise, that the walls are quite thin and you could hear the other rooms' doors closing very loudly as people came and went. The next door neighbour listened to their TV at full volume until about 1:30am (I was due for a 6am start and this didn't help!).... Not the hotel's fault, just them being a selfish douchebag. The bar fridge rattled away fairly constantly but I just turned it off until the morning. The worst problem were the pillows though. They were like bricks; thin and extremely hard. I ended up putting the decorative cushion inside a pillow case and using that just to be able to have some padding. I drove only a few minutes around the corner to the famous Cafe de Villi's for breakfast before continuing on my way. All said and done, I would stay here again as it is very budget friendly yet so close to everything. But I will bring my own pillow.... and earplugs just in case!

The hotel is very conveniently located in the city center of Adelaide, surrounded by many supermarkets, pharmacies, cafes and restaurants, which is very travel-friendly. The hotel is a good choice in Adelaide, and we checked in early at 9:00 in the morning with our children, and only charged an additional fee of 15 Australian dollars, which I think is very reasonable.

Amenities need a little attention

It was reasonable. Did not like the room facing the goal for it was very noisy. The attendant at the check-in was also reasonably unhelpful. Nex time I stay I would prefer a room with an internal balcony. I paid a $1000 deposit which hasn't been returned yet. Parking should be complimentary rather than an extra payment.

Excellent location, easy walking distance to amenities and public transport. Had to log into our own Prime and Netflix as it wasn't available on our TV. The bathroom was clean but quite tired, with a cracked sink and a fixed showerhead. Despite it being a queen room, there was ever only one set of cutlery provided. Having said that, we still appreciated our stay and would say that it was good value for money.

Basecamp Hostel is a good place with a welcoming structure, but there are a few things that could be improved. I’ve stayed here a couple of times before, but they didn’t consider my request to stay in the same room. Some other guests had issues with the air conditioning in their room, which wasn’t working quite inconvenient for them. Additionally, towels are locked, and you can’t take one yourself. Having access to only one towel per day is not enough. I also asked if they could store a suitcase for about a month while I traveled to Bali, but they said no. I think the hostel could be more flexible and offer additional services, especially for returning guests. Overall, it was a positive experience, but there’s definitely room for improvement in customer care and amenities.

The location is in the CBD, and it is very convenient to go anywhere. Whether it is shopping or Chinatown, the price is also very sweet. It is a restaurant with a high CP value. 🫶🏻

Very professional staff with a great product. I had no issues with anything. My room was well equipped, spacious and more important clean. As I travel on business I like a cup of tea in my room. Couldn’t find any teabags even though there was milk in the fridge. I would have appreciated a cold bottle of water supplied in the fridge.
