This is a modest semi-rural hotel, with well-designed and very well maintained and stylish rooms. (The next night we stayed in a Crowne Plaza hotel in another town and, frankly, it was not as good). The prices are very reasonable. We stayed in a terrace room, which is south-facing, with a pocket-handkerchief sized open outdoor-setting (not private, and with an outlook onto the carpark). The Queen standard rooms are north-facing, I believe. Our room (and probably all the rooms) was quiet and very clean. There is a faint floral smell of air-freshener. I liked that there was no expensively stocked bar fridge or snacking tray in the room: bottled water is complimentary (unlike Crowne Plaza). This Abode is pet-friendly, which I usually avoid as I'm allergic to animals but, that said, there was no doggy smell. There was no hairdryer that I could discover (apply to reception?), but there were ironing facilities in the room. I wouldn't bother with a breakfast package as all you have to do is walk across the way to Two Before Ten cafe, where your voucher would take you anyway. For now, the only place you can get dinner is at the pub, the Country Inn. (This might change as Murrumbateman is mushrooming). The Farmers Market is every second Saturday morning. Be aware that payment will come out automatically on the day you leave: that is to say that there is no opportunity to use another mode of payment (unless you consult with the receptionist when checking in?).
I rang up and got a cheaper price than on the website, which is great. I had my small family stay one night and it was lovely. The beds were comfy and the room was very clean. The bathroom seemed to be recently renovated so it was nice and modern and clean. Easy check in and out and friendly reception 😊
Arrived without a booking and received friendly service. The room we were assigned was well appointed, spacious and very clean. It was well priced and checkout was an easy process. I have no hesitation in recommending Thunderbird as a place to stay.

5 couples had 3 nights mid week at The Globe Inn and it was perfect for our group. The location was convenient and made for an easy walk around town to look at the old buildings. Each room was comfy, well appointed and had an en suite bathroom. Breakfasts were included and very good. There was a lounge area at the end of the main room - comfortable and with a fireiplace which would be lovely in winter. The big bonus for our group was the huge under-cover balcony upstairs - plenty of casual chairs and a table with chairs if you wanted to eat lunch you'd brought back Julia was a fabulous host - bright, bubbly and nothing was too much trouble . Husband Charlie was very friendly too, although he was a busy man and we didn't see a lot of him. There was plenty of help-yourself tea & coffee n the main room and Julia always had some yummy home-made biscuits/little cakes available. Plenty of supplies of bottled water, too. I can highly recommend The Globe Inn, particularly for a group escape.
We happily arrived in Yass after a full day on the road . We opted to pay the little bit extra for the Queen room and we are glad we did . The Queen bed is comfortable, there is a two seater couch , kettle , microwave , cold glasses in fridge , plates, cutlery ( Incase) and the best was how clean it is . You park the car literally at the door of your room which is so convenient. For those that can’t negotiate stairs it’s perfect . The owner - Sonia , is so lovely , friendly and helpful . She was so informative and welcoming on the phone and when we checked in . It is your standard motel - don’t expect anymore but we had no complaints. It’s comfortable and very clean . We aren’t surprised people return . If we do this road trip again , we too will be back . A
On arrival the receptionist was not very friendly. Basic motel with two bedrooms, enough for 5, and there were only 2 of us. One single bed could be moved to give space. Shower was difficult to access as was in the deep bath, with full surround & door. However was a quiet arrear, with nice walk into the town. Bed was very comfy The addition of a Microwave, cutlery & crockery was good. Parking good
I stayed one night. I had read reviews and was looking forward to my stay. The room was spacious, wifi good, bed comfortable and hot water however the cleanliness of the room was questionable. The carpet and the tiles in the bathroom appeared not to have been vacuumed or mopped. The tiles on the wall in the bathroom had a noticeable layer of dust. The light switch in the bathroom had black marks. The cutlery had not been washed…one knife still had leftover food on the blade. The plugs in the bathroom sink and kitchen sink were filthy. I brought this to the attention of the female in reception when I checked out,..even taking the two plugs to show her, explaining that if I ran a motel I would like to know. Her only comment was that the room had been vacuumed and mopped the day before…there was no apology.
