Booked a week in a Safari tent at this park, not knowing what to expect. Really surprising, and loved it. Spacious, clean plenty of storage. Large fridge, table chairs, sofas. The building has thick canvas sides, with zipper windows. Bathroom was solid walls and very spacious too. Our tent was alongside of the pond, with ducks and turtles swimming around, very cute. Airconditioned, and the cupbaord to section off the room, was very good. For a while couldn't find the TV!!!! Because of the canvas walls, possibly a little more conscious of people outside, noisy cars etc. Lovely pool, laundry very good. Park in a good position, would come back again. Our parking space was a way away from the entrance to our tent, but possible to park car closer to pack & unpack car. Most cabin sites seem to have parking alongside, this would be a great improvemnt to cabin we had.
My partner and I have been regular customers here for the last 3 years and absolutely love it. This hotel is in a convenient location, very close to the shops and numerous cafes. The rooms were big and everything was super clean and comfy! Rhys, the hotel manager has always been nothing short of amazing to us and his hospitality will forever be remembered. Overall it is a terrific stay with a very relaxing atmosphere.

We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour along the coast. Easy to find, plenty of car parking and right across the road from a lovely beach. Restaurants and bars within walking distance. Staff very friendly and helpful especially when we had a problem with the next hotel we were staying in and the lovely receptionist sorted it out for us which took a bit of time but we were very grateful for. The staff are also very knowledgeable about where to see wild kangaroos and where to go to watch the dolphins so make sure you ask them for the tips! Word of advice if you want to go to Fraser Island make sure you book early as places are limited and we missed out as we though we would be able to do this easily on arrival. We had the budget room which was perfectly adequate and clean, air con good. The pool was also excellent. All in all a great place to stay at a good price.
We were there for 2 weeks and Lazy Acres was by far the best value in Hervey Bay. It has access via a boom gate which was great for security. We stayed in Cabin 7B, we only got 1 key which was a bit of a pain, when I asked for another key (we were 3 people coming and going) the lady in the office said no, we could leave our key at the office and then the next one had to come and pick it up, then leave it again when they went out etc, which was a bit of a bother for us so we made other plans. Laundry: washing machine and dryer both need 4 x $1 coins and there is no change machine, keep this in mind if you're going to want to do some washing. A word of warning about Cabin 7 is that 7A (the disabled accessible unit) and 7B (also called the carer's unit) is one cabin, the 2 areas area divided by a paper thin wall and normal door (not fire proof/sound proof) so you are very much at the mercy of your neighbour whether you will have a peaceful night or not. We could feel them walking (the cabin vibrated) and their footsteps thumped, we could hear them in the shower, washing their dishes and hear their TV when it was loud. Bearing this in mind we were very quiet, taking into consideration they could hear our every move too. Internal wall between the 2 bedrooms of Cabin 7B is also very thin and I could hear the bed creaking in the main bedroom every time the other occupant rolled over in bed. Maybe it needs a new bed. Cabin 7B was much better than in the photographs we saw online, which was a pleasant surprise. It has 3 plates/cups/cutlery and nice pots and pans. Small oven, gas cooktop. Nice big fridge. Good aircon and nice deck to sit on. The only bathroom/toilet is off the main bedroom, so whoever is sleeping in the single room needs to go through the main bedroom to use the toilet at night. Just something to keep in mind as it may not be suitable for everyone. The play area is non-existent with tape cordoning it off. I presume they are going to redo it. I would stay there again, but not in Cabin 7 due to the close proximity to the neighbours, but Cabin 7 is ideal for a larger family due to the interconnectedness. Lovely permanent residents - most of them are happy to stop and chat, I got to know one of them quite well over our stay and will miss them.
I called before arriving and they kindly arranged for me to pick up the key from the safe. It was convenient that I could park my car right in front of the property. The apartment was huge and of a good size that could fit a family of four easily. Travelling alone meant I had a massive amount of space. It appeared clean and had most of everything I wanted in there. It was a little dated and the ceiling fan perhaps needed some maintenance as the turning knob was a bit faulty. There were two air conditioners in the one bedroom apartment, one in the living area and one in the main bedroom. The bathroom was huge but was certainly strange to be positioned inside. The towels were clean and included a vanity light which helped, otherwise it would have been too dim. There was mould around the shower and toilet bowl. I would have preferred the controls in the shower to be one where I could turn it to the warm water section easily rather than having two taps and having to balance it in order to obtain hot water. The bed was very comfortable which was a bonus. I am unsure how safe it would have been if I kept the window open which could have saved quite a bit of electricity during winter where it was cool enough outside. When I checked out, there was no one at the reception so I left the key on the table as how other guests did as well. It is a comfortable enough apartment and was at a convenient location near the esplanade. I would certainly stay here again.
Unfortunately we only stayed one night in the Bel Air caravan. This was very large and comfortable for 2 people. The toilet was also very clean and spacious, I particularly liked the outdoor area. There is also a laundry room, games room and BBQ on site. The man at the reception was extremely nice and helpful, even though check-in wasn't until 2 p.m. we were allowed to check in at 9. He also helped us find a taxi. We would have liked to stay there longer, but the distance to the shopping centers is far. Local transport is not particularly good in this area.
