Best Brooks Hotels

I served on the Board of an organization bringing 700 people to Brooks for an athletic event. This seemed to be one of the best hotels in Brooks, but I didn't have a good experience. Foremost, my room (#115) smelled like dirty socks or shoes, (my guess would be from a moldy air conditioning system, or carpeting that got wet and wasn't cleaned properly). Next up, anytime anyone used a toilet or shower nearby the pressurized running water was exceptionally noisy and annoying. Also, the internet was not particularly fast. On the plus side, the front desk staff were helpful and friendly, and I thought the hotel's restaurant was better than anywhere else we ate in Brooks. The pillow-top beds were nice and comfortable. But bottom line, I couldn't wait to check out and not face the stinky socks smell that was apparent every time I walked into my room.

Stayed here on several occasions as it's right in the middle of town, close to everything you need and it's pretty well you get what you pay for. The owners have always been accomodating and friendly and never had any problems while staying at property. If your looking for a quick and cheap place for the night, I'd recommend here. The only thing I'd have to complain about (considering it's only $60/night) is the WiFi. There are too many different WiFi routers and not even sure which one is for what and all different passwords....

Everything is great. But you have to book in advance.

I recently stayed here with husband. The facility was acceptable. The room was big. The breakfast was good. I was happy with my experience until my departure. We had left a small cooler in the refrigerator. I know beyond a doubt it was there. We got to our destination and realized we forgot it. After our day trip, we detoured back to Brooks, (30 minutes out of our way) to retrieve our cooler. My husband was told the room was cleaned and nothing was turned it. The desk person didn’t bother to double check or inquire of the house cleaner. If I thought for a minute, I didn’t leave it there I wouldn’t say this. My property was stolen. The cooler itself wasn’t worth more than $15. It’s the principle that my property was stolen and it was not acknowledged. In addition they did not offer to investigate. I am really disappointed that the hotel did nothing they just told my husband it wasn’t turned in. I would be careful about your belongings here. My husband accepted what was told to him because he didn’t want to fight. I think it is totally unacceptable that I know it was there and it was not turned in. That is stealing
