This Inn was the worst place we have ever stayed in - from the booking process and not ever receiving an email confirmation to the hassel of their payment requirements. They are not in any way, shape, or form, handicap accessible. My husband is on oxygen and they tried to have us in a room on the 3rd floor - there is no elevator. The friends we were traveling with were then booked into the 3rd floor room; one of them is 82 years old. As she was bringing in her suitcase, she fell outside the front door in plain view of the desk clerk. While he did not move a muscle to help her, a woman who had just checked her aunt into a room, helped her up and carried her bag up the 3 flights of stairs. In the meantime, my husband and I went down a flight of stairs to our ādeluxe roomā which came with a 2-3 person hot tub - in the room right next to the bed. This was probably why the room smelled of mold and mildew. The sliding glass door opened up to the pool area. When I opened the drapes, there was a couple basking in the sun right outisde our door. This hotel was built in 1972 - it appears there have been zero updates since then. And last, in all our travels, the final bill is paid upon check-out. Not here. They charge everything upfront upon check-in and good luck if there is an issue. The only reason we stayed here is we needed to extend our 2 rooms for a second night and to be near the airport. Our original booked hotel could not accommodate the second night and this is what was available. I think I would have preferred sleeping in the airport or the car over this place, especially since it was more than twice the price of the original hotel we had booked.
We stayed here on the last night of our Nova Scotia trip because we wanted to be close to the airport. The rooms are beautiful. The check in process was kind of informal- we just had to go down to the bar and find a certain person, and paid her right then on a portable card reader. The reservation was done through email. It was kind of warm, as only one of the bedrooms had an a/c unit, and we didn't notice it at night. FYI, it's above the window and the remote is inside the desk! We stayed in the Thomas Suite, which has two bedrooms. It's on the top floor. I think the other rooms are smaller. There is a common area on the second floor where the coffee maker and microwave are. They had a few board games, a fireplace, couch and a balcony. There was cold water in glass decanters in the fridge, and all the glassware was chilled in the fridge as well. There was yogurt and juice in the common room fridge, and our breakfast consisted of muffins, fruit, and granola bars. It was noisy until the restaurant closed, but after that it was pretty quiet. The one drawback was getting there. It is on a busy road (we arrived at rush hour), and there is only one way in and out. The parking lot is kind of small, but there were a couple of spaces when we got there. Also, when we came in off the highway, our GPS instructed us to turn left at the stop sign, which was next to impossible. I gave up and turned right, and there is a roundabout about a block that way where you can make a U-turn.
š Transportation: The most speechless, the hotel shuttle bus to the airport is free. But after the driver sent us to the airport, he said a lot of things that he didn't understand and asked us for ten dollars (there were three of us in the car). We gave it to him. Later, please ask the customer service to help the hotel to verify that the pick-up and drop-off car is really free. Collection of money is the driver's personal behavior. Remind everyone that the hotel-related services can be bound to the room, the cash receipt is very problematic, don't be almost fooled like me. Trip.com yyds
š§¹ Hygiene: The room hygiene is not bad, that is, the toiletries of the Garden Inn in Hafa during the epidemic is still the big bottle stuck on the wall. The Garden Inn I stayed in Calgary, Ottawa is not.
š Environment: I am really speechless, living on the first floor, a large light outside the window is shooting at the window of the room, and the curtains are still bright. There is no hair dryer in the room. I asked my friend about the room. I can find the front desk. The front desk also asked me repeatedly to confirm that there is no room š .
Facilities: The lobby is better than the holiday inn next door. The lobby of the holiday inn is very very fast and hotel wind. The hotel air conditioning is noisy and not cool.
Overall this garden inn is not as good as the other garden inn.

I recently stayed at Sandman Signature hotel and couldnāt be more pleased with my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated
We like to stay at Courtyard Dartmouth now for our visits to Hfx/Dartmouth. It's right smack in the heart of the Crossing with everything you'd need for food and shopping and entertainment easily at walking distance, but we still drive lot to lot. Easy, free parking. Next door to the Keg for a great steak. Room is quiet and clean. Even in a massive windstorm, it was quiet and peaceful inside. Beds are good. Shower is good. No complaints. One issue: DO NOT get the breakfast. We made that mistake. It's lacklustre and 3x the price for the value. With handily the worst service I've received in a ārestaurantā. We did it the first time. And our next stay (other end of the trip), we went to McDonalds in the same lot for cheaper and better. We use this as our āairportā hotel. It's 15 mins to the airport in our rental car. There is NOT a shuttle. But it's close and better than the airport hotels actually at the airport.
